What has Jagex announced?
Jagex announced the project on October 3, 2026, in partnership with Lyrical Animation and Charlie “MoistCr1TiKaL” White’s Meatier productions. Jagex CEO Jon Bellamy revealed it at RuneFest in Birmingham after the Old School RuneScape keynote. The series is based on RuneScape and is intended to bring the world of Gielinor to the screen.

Jagex described development as being at an early stage. Bellamy said, “It’s early days, but we’re excited to explore that potential with Charlie and the team at Lyrical Animation, and we wanted our players to be the first to know.” Lyrical Animation Creative Director Daniel Dominguez described RuneScape as having “such a unique storytelling voice, at once laugh-out-loud funny and effortlessly insightful.”

How to distinguish the series from other RuneScape videos
Fan-made animations, gameplay videos, trailers, and game cinematics are not automatically episodes of the announced Jagex and Lyrical Animation production. Look for confirmation from Jagex or an official distribution partner before identifying a video as part of the series.
