Do not treat a BTC ticker, wallet balance, partner logo, or “backed” label as proof. Verify the network, the exact Sui asset type and issuing package, the Bitcoin deposit and its Sui-side representation, and the rules for custody, pricing, liquidation, and redemption. As of October 4, 2026, the official Sui materials reviewed describe Hashi as pre-mainnet; they do not establish a production mainnet launch.
Is Hashi live on Sui mainnet?
The reviewed official materials do not establish that Hashi is available on Sui mainnet for production use. The Hashi landing page says it is available on devnet. A Sui Foundation announcement dated July 22, 2026 says Hashi testnet is live for development and integration ahead of mainnet. A Sui overview published September 2, 2026 says Hashi has not shipped yet and refers to a testnet scheduled for July, wording that is stale relative to the July announcement. Taken together, describe Hashi as pre-mainnet in these materials, and check current official deployment documentation before interacting.

Sui describes mainnet as the production network, testnet as staging, and devnet as an unstable development network. Testnet tokens have no real value, and devnet data is periodically wiped. Confirm that both the app and your wallet explicitly identify Sui mainnet before considering a real-value position. A polished interface or partner name does not establish which network an app transaction will use.

Sui describes Hashi as a Bitcoin collateralization primitive. Its published flow starts when a user sends native BTC to a unique Hashi-generated Bitcoin deposit address. Sui validators monitor Bitcoin and reach a quorum after confirmations; an equivalent BTC representation is then minted on Sui. A Sui smart contract can use that representation as collateral, and BTC can be withdrawn after repayment.

The Hashi page says each Sui address has a personalized 2-of-2 multisig address. The July 2026 testnet announcement also describes a Guardian Layer: spending collateral UTXOs requires a Hashi-validator MPC signature plus a guardian signature. These are design descriptions, not proof that a particular deposit or app position is safe, redeemable, or operating on mainnet.
What should you verify before using a Sui BTC market?
- Confirm the network. In the app and wallet, check that the active network is Sui mainnet. Stop if either shows testnet or devnet, or if the app does not make the network clear.
- Identify the exact Sui asset. Find the full fungible-asset type identifier and issuing package in the protocol’s official documentation. Compare them with the asset shown in the app’s market and the transaction your wallet asks you to sign. A ticker, token name, or logo can be copied and does not establish identity or redemption rights.
- Match the Bitcoin deposit to the Sui representation. If using Hashi, compare the deposit address and transaction ID with your own Bitcoin transaction record. Check the transaction on Bitcoin and follow current Hashi instructions for confirmation status; the reviewed public overview does not state a numerical confirmation threshold. Then verify that the Sui-side representation or receipt is on the intended network and has the expected type and issuing package.
- Inspect on-chain evidence. Use a reputable explorer or the protocol’s documented data reader to check the Sui transaction result and relevant object, asset, or event data. Sui data interfaces expose transactions, checkpoints, objects, and events. Do not rely solely on an app notification or a screenshot supplied by someone else, and do not sign a transaction whose effects you cannot understand.
- Read the custody and authorization model. Establish who can authorize Bitcoin movement, what validator and guardian roles apply, and what contract controls the Sui-side position. Sui’s Hashi page names the validator set and loan smart contract as trust assumptions. Additional signatures do not make collusion, compromised keys, software defects, or operational failures impossible.
- Check the market’s price and exit rules. Before depositing, identify the BTC oracle, how frequently its price updates, and what happens if it is stale or unavailable. Find the market’s maximum loan-to-value ratio, liquidation threshold and penalty, and withdrawal or redemption conditions. Hashi’s public page says collateral contracts link price oracles, but the reviewed materials do not provide a complete current app-level parameter set. Sui’s oracle documentation warns that a wrong or stale price can cause pool loss or liquidation of a healthy position.
- Verify any audit claim against deployed code. Look for the actual report and check its scope, date, reviewed commit or package version, findings, and whether the deployed code matches. An earlier Sui Hashi article said contracts “will be audited” by Asymptotic, Certora, and OtterSec and described formal verification as planned; that wording is not evidence of completed reports.
How can you compare collateral routes or apps?
Do not reduce different risks to a single “backed” or “audited” rating. Compare the evidence for each dimension separately:

| What to compare | What to establish |
|---|---|
| Network and deployment | Whether the app and collateral market are on Sui mainnet, rather than testnet or devnet; verify this in the app, wallet, and current official deployment information. |
| Bitcoin custody and signing | Whether the route uses native BTC deposits, a wrapped or custodial representation, and which validators, guardians, custodians, or other parties can authorize movement. |
| Sui asset identity and redemption | The full asset type and issuing package, plus the documented path and conditions for redeeming the Sui representation for BTC. |
| Oracle and risk controls | The price source and freshness, behavior during feed failure, maximum LTV, liquidation threshold and penalty, and any withdrawal delay. |
| Security review | Completed audit or verification reports, their scope and findings, and whether the reviewed version matches the code or package actually deployed. |
Do partner names prove a live BTC collateral market?
No. Sui’s July 22, 2026 testnet announcement names ecosystem participants including AlphaLend, Bluefin, Current, Scallop, Suilend, and Navi, and lists Ledger among custody and wallet partners. Those announced relationships do not prove that a particular app currently accepts BTC collateral on mainnet. Check the specific app’s live network, market asset, transaction package, and BTC redemption route before relying on it.
When should you stop instead of depositing?
- The app or wallet does not clearly identify the network, or it is not Sui mainnet for a real-value position.
- You cannot confirm the exact asset type and issuing package against trusted protocol documentation.
- The app cannot explain how a Bitcoin deposit is linked to the Sui asset or how BTC can be redeemed.
- The custody signers, oracle behavior, liquidation terms, or withdrawal conditions are unclear.
- An audit claim is offered without a report you can match to the deployed code.
The reviewed official pages do not establish a current Hashi mainnet deployment, production app acceptance, a user-specific confirmation threshold, a reserve dashboard, or completed audit reports. A source-based checklist cannot replace checking current deployment and market information or examining the transaction you are about to sign.
