The editor canvas is not a reliable place to verify it: code changes appear in preview mode and on the published site, not inside the editor.
Verify the code on the published page
- In the builder, save the custom code and select Update website so the published version includes the change.
- Open the published website in Google Chrome.
- Right-click the page and choose Inspect, then open the Elements panel in DevTools.
- Press Ctrl+F on Windows or Cmd+F on macOS. Search for a short, distinctive phrase from the snippet or an identifier it contains, such as an analytics ID.
A matching result means that string is present in the page’s Elements view. It does not, by itself, prove that the code is valid or that an external integration is working.

Check where the snippet was added
If you are unsure where the code went, check the insertion point. The integration provider’s directions should determine whether its snippet belongs in the head or body.

Code intended for the head
In the builder, open More (⋯) → Integrations → Custom code. Add <meta>, <link>, and <style> tags in the <head>. Add <script>, <noscript>, and <iframe> tags at the end of the <body>, unless a script uses data-render-head to load from the head. Save the code and update the website.
#1 Best Overall
Code intended for the body
Use Add elements to add an Embed code element where it belongs. Choose Enter code, insert the snippet, and select Embed code. Update the website afterward.
If the search finds nothing
- Confirm you selected Update website after saving the snippet; an unpublished edit may not appear on the live page.
- Make sure Chrome is showing the correct site and page, then search for a distinctive substring rather than relying only on a long snippet.
- Check the likely insertion point: Integrations → Custom code for head-level code or an Embed code element for body-level code.
- If you are checking a widget, separate two questions: whether the snippet appears in Elements and whether the widget itself loads. A snippet can be present while an external service or the code fails to produce a visible widget.
- If the code appears correct and the widget is still missing, try clearing the browser cache.
Custom-code changes are visible in preview mode and online, but not within the editor.

- Back up the snippets so you can restore them.
- Remove all code from the Integrations Custom code field and temporarily remove code from Embed code elements.
- Update the website and check whether the problem is gone.
- If the site works, re-add the snippets one at a time, updating and checking after each addition. This helps identify which snippet triggers the problem.
- If the problem remains, try a private browsing window or clear the browser cache; contact support if needed.
