Build the dashboard as a small authenticated Go application that reads unresolved issue groups from a monitoring API, maps each response into an internal model, and serves a filterable list with a detail view. Keep provider credentials on the server, make the API host configurable, and treat prioritization as a product decision rather than assuming the provider’s issue order is a severity score.
Choose an issue-group source before designing the dashboard
An administrative triage screen needs grouped issues, not just a stream of raw telemetry. A provider that already groups events and exposes project, environment, and issue context can supply the list and detail data directly. A pipeline that stores only raw traces, metrics, or logs may require you to build grouping, persistence, and issue lifecycle behavior yourself.

Sentry is one option for this workflow: its organization issue-list API defaults to unresolved issues and supports filtering by project and environment. Its issue-detail API can return basic statistics, comment and user-report counts, and a latest-event summary. See the Sentry organization issue-list API and issue detail API documentation for current request and response details.

The Sentry web API is described as v0, and its documentation includes region-specific API domains, including US and Germany examples. Make the API base host a deployment setting rather than embedding one region in code. Before deploying, verify the current endpoint scopes, account permissions, pagination behavior, and rate limits in the official API documentation.

Separate provider responses from the UI
Do not pass a monitoring vendor’s JSON response straight into templates or browser code. Define a compact internal view model that represents what the triage screen actually needs. This keeps the UI stable if the provider adds fields or you later change data sources.
type IssueGroup struct {
ID string `json:"id"`
Title string `json:"title"`
Status string `json:"status"`
Project string `json:"project"`
Environment string `json:"environment,omitempty"`
EventCount *int64 `json:"event_count,omitempty"`
UserCount *int64 `json:"user_count,omitempty"`
LastSeen *time.Time `json:"last_seen,omitempty"`
DetailURL string `json:"detail_url,omitempty"`
}
type IssueDetail struct {
IssueGroup
Comments *int64 `json:"comments,omitempty"`
UserReports *int64 `json:"user_reports,omitempty"`
LatestEvent string `json:"latest_event,omitempty"`
}
Use pointers or optional fields where a metric may be absent. A missing event count is not the same as zero events, and a provider-supplied detail URL should be shown only when present and validated for the intended use. If you construct an internal route, keep it separate from a provider link.
Keep authentication and API access on the Go server
The browser should call your dashboard, not the monitoring API directly. Store the provider token in the server’s secret configuration, send it using bearer authentication, and request only fields required by the list or detail screen. Never put a token in JavaScript, a template, a URL, or a client-visible configuration endpoint.

Protect the dashboard itself with your organization’s chosen authentication and authorization mechanism. Provider API authentication does not authenticate a person viewing your dashboard. Limit dashboard access to the staff who need production issue data, and choose API scopes and account permissions narrowly for the selected endpoints. The detail endpoint’s documented authentication is bearer-based; confirm the current list endpoint requirements as well.
Configuration should include at least the organization identifier, API base host, and token, sourced from a secret manager or protected environment at runtime. Avoid logging authorization headers or returning raw provider error bodies to users.
Implement a provider client and normalize its results
Keep HTTP details in a dedicated client package. It should build requests against the configured host and documented organization issue-list route, include the unresolved filter and selected project or environment filters, attach bearer authentication, enforce a timeout, and decode only the fields your application uses.

type IssueSource interface {
ListOpen(ctx context.Context, filter IssueFilter) ([]IssueGroup, error)
GetDetail(ctx context.Context, id string) (IssueDetail, error)
}
type IssueFilter struct {
Project string
Environment string
Cursor string
}
In the concrete Sentry adapter, translate IssueFilter into the documented organization issue-list request and map the provider’s response into IssueGroup. Keep the provider-specific query encoding inside that adapter; the handler and templates should not know its parameter names or response structure. The API’s unresolved default is useful, but make the open-only intent explicit in your adapter and tests so a future API behavior change does not silently broaden the list.

Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Handle non-success responses, malformed JSON, timeouts, and cancellation as ordinary failure cases. Return a useful dashboard-level message while keeping diagnostic details in server logs. Do not claim a request succeeded merely because it returned valid JSON: check the HTTP status and the provider’s documented error format.
Build list, filter, and detail routes
Start with server-rendered HTML or a small client-side interface; the data boundary can stay the same either way. A minimal route design might use GET /admin/issues for the filtered list and GET /admin/issues/{id} for a detail panel or page. These are application routes, not provider API routes.

- Parse filters. Read project and environment from query parameters, validate their length and allowed characters, then pass them to the provider adapter. Populate filter options from a trusted configuration or a provider endpoint if you add one.
- Load unresolved groups. Request the organization’s open issues with the selected filters. Implement pagination using the provider’s currently documented mechanism, and expose a next-page action rather than assuming one response contains every issue.
- Render a compact table. Show title, project, environment, available event or user counts, and last occurrence. Include a clear empty state when no issues match and a separate error state when the provider cannot be reached.
- Load detail on selection. Request the issue detail only when a user opens a row. Present the latest-event summary and available counts without implying that a field is guaranteed to exist.
Escape text received from the provider when rendering HTML. If using Go’s html/template, retain its contextual escaping rather than marking provider strings as trusted HTML.
Make the table useful for human triage
Project and environment are supported filters for the Sentry issue list, so make them visible and persistent in the URL. That lets a teammate share a filtered view without encoding credentials. Provide a reset action and show active filters near the table.

Test behavior that can break triage
Use a fake HTTP server in Go tests to exercise the adapter without depending on a live monitoring account. Test the normalization boundary as well as request construction.
- An unresolved list response maps the fields used by the table into the internal model.
- Project and environment filters are passed through correctly, including values that need URL encoding.
- Optional metrics and latest-event fields may be absent without causing decoding or rendering failures.
- Unauthorized, forbidden, rate-limited, server-error, timeout, and malformed-response cases produce controlled application errors.
- Pagination does not silently stop after the first page.
- Provider-supplied strings are rendered as text, not executable markup.
Because pagination and rate-limit behavior can change or depend on the current endpoint, verify them against live API documentation and exercise the behavior in a non-production account before relying on the dashboard operationally.
Instrument the dashboard without confusing telemetry policies
If you also want error reporting or performance data for the Go application itself, choose instrumentation that fits the telemetry stack you already operate. Sentry offers an official Sentry Go SDK for reporting errors and tracking application performance. Its repository describes support for the two most recent Go releases; check the repository’s current policy before setting a toolchain requirement.

OpenTelemetry Go documents traces and metrics as stable and logs as release-candidate status. That is a maturity snapshot of the project documentation, not a promise that every exporter or instrumentation library has the same status. See the OpenTelemetry Go documentation when selecting components.
Go toolchain telemetry is a separate setting from telemetry your application collects. The Go project says the toolchain’s default keeps telemetry data on the local computer and does not upload it; Go 1.23 or later provides go telemetry controls, including local, on, and off modes. This does not configure or disable telemetry emitted by your application or its libraries. See the Go Telemetry documentation.
Quick Recap
Deployment checklist
- Configure the provider API host for the organization’s region.
- Keep the bearer token in server-side secret storage and restrict its permissions.
- Require authentication for the admin dashboard and authorize users who can inspect production issues.
- Set outbound request timeouts and handle cancellation.
- Verify current endpoint scopes, pagination, and rate-limit behavior before production use.
- Log request failures without logging secrets or exposing raw provider errors in the UI.
- Test filters, empty results, missing fields, and provider failures before relying on the page during an incident.
