To use Vysor wirelessly with an Android phone, pair it with your computer over USB first, then enable Vysor’s wireless connection and unplug only after the device window opens. You’ll need USB Debugging, a data-capable cable, and—according to Vysor’s surfaced guidance—a Pro plan and the same Wi-Fi network for both devices.
What you need before connecting
- An Android phone with USB Debugging enabled in Developer Options. Vysor’s web app lists USB Debugging as a requirement for detecting an Android device.
- A USB cable that supports data transfer. A charge-only cable cannot complete the initial pairing.
- Vysor on your computer, with permission to access the phone if Android displays a USB Debugging authorization prompt.
- Wireless access in your Vysor plan. Vysor-branded setup and download pages describe wireless mode as a Pro feature; check the plan details shown in the app because terms can change.
The official Vysor web app’s setup information identifies USB Debugging and a data cable as prerequisites: Vysor web app. The Pro-feature description appears on Vysor-branded pages at Vysor and Vysor download; the available information does not independently establish that those pages and the web app share an operator.
Connect Vysor over Wi-Fi
- Enable USB Debugging. On the phone, open Developer Options and turn on USB Debugging. If Developer Options is not available, use the Android instructions for your phone model to make it visible.
- Connect the phone to the computer by USB. Use a data-capable cable and approve the USB Debugging prompt on the phone if it appears.
- Open Vysor and select the detected phone. Wait for the device to appear, then start its Vysor session.
- Turn on wireless mode for that device. Use the wireless setting or Wi-Fi control beside the device in Vysor. The location and wording may differ across versions.
- Wait for the device window to open over the wireless connection. Once wireless operation is active, disconnect the USB cable.
A demonstration by Vysor creator Koushik Dutta describes the sequence as connecting by USB, pressing the Wi-Fi icon next to the device, and disconnecting the cable once the window opens: Vysor wireless demonstration. That video dates from 2016, so treat the icon description as a clue rather than a promise about the current interface. Vysor’s help page also describes starting with USB and then enabling wireless mode: Vysor help.
Fix common wireless connection problems
Vysor does not detect the phone over USB
- Confirm USB Debugging is enabled.
- Try a different cable known to transfer data; a charging-only cable will not work for pairing.
- Reconnect the phone and approve the USB Debugging authorization prompt if Android shows one.
The phone pairs by USB but wireless does not connect
- Put the phone and computer on the same Wi-Fi network, as Vysor’s troubleshooting guidance recommends.
- Check whether a firewall is blocking Vysor, then retry the USB-first setup.
- Enable wireless mode again while the phone is connected by USB, and wait for the Vysor device window to open before unplugging.
