There is no visible, general-purpose Safari app to launch: watchOS makes web viewing available in limited contexts, so treat it as a quick way to check a page rather than a replacement for browsing on iPhone.
Open a web page from Mail or Messages
Use a link already on your watch, or send one to yourself from your iPhone first. Apple documents opening website links from Mail; Messages is another limited context for Safari on watchOS, and self-sending a link is a practical route described by Tom’s Guide.

- Get the link onto your watch. If it is not already in an email or conversation, send the URL to yourself using Messages or Mail on your iPhone. Make sure the message or email is available in the corresponding watch app.
- Find the link on Apple Watch. Open Messages or Mail, then open the conversation or email containing the website address.
- Tap the link. Mail can display web-formatted content optimized for Apple Watch, as Apple explains in its Read mail on Apple Watch guide. The page may use a watch-optimized view rather than looking like it does on your phone.
- Return to Mail or Messages when finished. Use the close control in the web view to go back to the app that contained the link. The control and view details may differ with software versions.
Some pages may show a Reader view, and a URL bar may offer a switch to Web View, according to Tom’s Guide. These interface details are secondary-source observations and may vary; Apple’s documentation confirms web-formatted Mail content but does not promise identical controls for every page.

| Messages | The URL is already in a conversation, or sending yourself a message is the quickest way to put it on the watch. | Apple describes Safari on watchOS as available in limited contexts that include Messages; sending yourself a URL is covered by a secondary how-to. What this hidden browser can—and cannot—do
Apple’s documentation describes web-formatted link viewing in Mail, while Apple Developer characterizes Safari on watchOS as available in limited contexts such as Mail and Messages. That is different from a standalone Safari app in the watch’s app list. Use it for a quick look at a page; if a site is hard to read, does not render, or requires awkward interaction, continue on iPhone.

Apple says website links in Mail may not be available in all countries or regions. Its cited documentation does not establish a definitive list of supported watch models, a minimum watchOS version, or exact regional coverage. If tapping a link does not open a page, check Apple’s current Mail guidance and try the link on your watch; do not assume every model, region, or software version exposes the same behavior.
