Use a standard F1–F12 command
- Find the F-key you need on the top row.
- Hold Fn and press that key. For example, use Fn plus the desired top-row key to send its traditional F1–F12 command.
This method follows Realme support guidance for the Book. The guidance also says Fn lock is disabled by default and that the Fn-key function cannot be changed on this model. It was surfaced through a third-party mirror attributed to Realme; an official Realme-hosted copy was not verified. Realme support guidance

Use the special function printed on a key
Press the top-row key on its own to use the special function shown by its icon. The Realme Quick Start Guide identifies F4 as the touchpad enable/disable control. It does not provide a complete text mapping for every key, so check the icons on your keyboard and the guide for the other functions. Realme Book Quick Start Guide

Can you make F1–F12 the default?
Realme support guidance says the Fn-key function cannot be changed on the Realme Book. Do not assume that Fn+Esc or a BIOS setting from another laptop brand will enable Fn lock on this model. Microsoft’s F-lock instructions describe Microsoft keyboards and explain that the toggle requires an F Lock key; they do not establish that the Realme Book supports it. If Fn plus a key does not work
- Try Fn with the desired top-row key again, making sure Fn is held while you press it.
- To test the printed special function instead, press the top-row key by itself.

The Realme India product listing identifies the i5 model as using an 11th-generation Intel Core i5-1135G7, with Windows 10 Home preinstalled and a Windows 11 upgrade noted. Those product details do not establish a different Fn-key setting between Windows versions. Realme Book specifications

If you regularly use standard F1–F12 commands and would rather not hold Fn, an external USB keyboard with a dedicated F-key row may be more convenient. It is a workaround for how you work, not a change to the Realme Book’s built-in keyboard. Before buying, check the keyboard’s layout, wired or wireless connection, and whether its top row sends standard F-key commands directly.
