You can use the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 as a webcam by connecting it to your computer over USB-C, switching the camera to Webcam mode, and selecting it as the video source in your meeting or capture app. DJI’s documented steps here are for Pocket 3; they are not confirmed for the original Osmo Pocket or DJI Pocket 2.
Connect the Osmo Pocket 3 and enter Webcam mode
- Power on the camera.
- Connect it to your computer with a USB-C cable. Use a cable that supports data and fits the computer’s available port; DJI’s instructions do not specify a particular cable model, length, or generation.
- Tap Webcam on the Pocket 3 screen. The camera enters Webcam mode and functions as a webcam input device, according to DJI’s Pocket 3 FAQ.
Select the camera in your application
Open your video app’s camera or video-input settings and choose the DJI camera or UVC camera device. DJI describes Pocket 3’s webcam function as UVC, a standard for USB video capture devices. Its guidance names OBS Studio, VooV Meeting, and PotPlayer on Windows, and Photo Booth on macOS; supported choices and controls can vary by application. See DJI’s Osmo Pocket 3 series guide.

If the app offers a camera preview, check that it is receiving video before joining a call or starting a recording. The cited DJI guidance does not establish a universal resolution or frame-rate setting.

Use the Pocket 3’s Webcam mode controls
While Webcam mode is active, the camera screen displays “Webcam.” DJI’s beginner guide says the Shutter/Record button starts recording. Swipe left from the screen’s right edge to view parameters such as exposure, white balance, and focus mode. The available controls and recording behavior may differ between apps, so use the app’s own recording or meeting controls where appropriate. Details are in DJI’s guide.

If the computer or app does not recognize the camera
- Check that the Pocket 3 is powered on and that the USB-C cable supports data, not only charging.
- On the camera, tap Webcam to enter Webcam mode; connecting the cable alone is not the full setup.
- In the application’s video settings, select the DJI or UVC camera input rather than another connected camera.
- On macOS, DJI notes that system compatibility can affect webcam stability and recommends updating macOS if problems occur. This is general guidance, not a promise that every Mac configuration is compatible.
DJI’s cited instructions do not specify a required cable speed, driver, or guaranteed video format, so there is no evidence-based universal setting to recommend beyond a working USB-C data connection.
What you need—and what is optional
The documented connection requires the Pocket 3 and a USB-C data cable. A Pocket 3 Handle With 1/4-inch Thread or compatible mini tripod can help position the camera on a desk, but neither is needed to enter Webcam mode. A DJI Mic 2 transmitter is an optional audio accessory; it is separate from the camera’s USB-C video connection and is not a prerequisite. DJI lists these accessories and Mic 2 support in its Pocket 3 FAQ.

Does this work with the original Osmo Pocket or Pocket 2?
The steps above are specifically supported for Osmo Pocket 3. The cited DJI material does not verify the same Webcam mode workflow for the original Osmo Pocket or DJI Pocket 2, so do not assume that connecting either older model will make it appear as a webcam.
