To track a Shopify product, give Sken.io the product’s public URL, select the price, stock message, image, or other detail you care about, choose visual or content monitoring, set a check interval, and enable an alert channel. Sken.io checks the page from outside the store, so you do not need to install a script on the Shopify site. The steps below cover the online storefront; a Shop app product page is a separate target.
Choose the exact Shopify page to monitor
Open the product page you want to follow and copy its public URL. Sken.io is designed to monitor public pages, including pages that depend on JavaScript. It is not built to pass through a multi-step login, so a private preview or logged-in customer view may not be accessible.

Be precise about which Shopify experience you mean. A product page on a merchant’s online store and its Shop app product-detail page are not interchangeable. Shopify says Shop product-detail templates are managed separately from the online-store theme, so monitoring the storefront URL does not establish what appears in the Shop app. Copy and test the exact public URL you want watched. See Shopify’s Shop product detail page guidance.
Set up a Sken.io monitor
- Open Sken.io and create a monitoring task using the public product URL.
- Select the smallest useful region containing the signal: for example, the displayed price, availability text, “sold out” label, product image, or promotional badge. The selected area is compared with its previous capture.
- Choose a detection mode. Use visual monitoring for rendered appearance; use content monitoring for text or numbers where visual styling changes should not matter.
- Review the initial capture and selection. If the box includes unrelated areas, narrow it so page changes outside the product detail are less likely to trigger alerts.
- Set the check interval with your check allowance in mind. Sken.io says paid plans support intervals from once a minute to once a month.
- Choose a notification channel you actually monitor: Sken.io lists email, Android push, Slack, Discord, Google Chat, webhooks, and Zapier.
- Save the task, then review incoming alerts against their before-and-after captures to decide whether the product detail changed in a meaningful way.
Choose visual or content monitoring
| Mode | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Visual | Changes a shopper would see, such as a product image swap, badge, layout element, or visible stock-state presentation. | Styling or layout changes can register even when the important product text is unchanged. |
| Content | A particular price, availability phrase, or other text or number when styling is unimportant. | It focuses on text rather than visual changes such as an image swap. |
These are Sken.io’s descriptions of its modes, not a guarantee that every change will be detected exactly as intended. Keep the monitored region focused and inspect the first capture so the comparison is aimed at the right detail.
#1 Best Overall
- Notification when a website of your choice changes
- Visual difference of all modifications to a website detected (diff)
- Choose exactly which part or parts of a page to watch
- Check pages even behind logins, HTTP Authentications, form posts or long navigational sequences
Reduce false alerts from changing page elements
Cookie consent banners, chat widgets, popups, and rotating ads can vary between captures and distract from the product information. Sken.io provides an element-removal mode for such overlays. Remove only elements that are irrelevant to the comparison, then confirm that the selected product region remains visible and useful.
A narrow selection and suitable mode reduce avoidable noise, but they cannot guarantee perfect detection. If the page redesigns its product layout, revisit the selection and initial capture.
Set a realistic interval and understand the check budget
Sken.io’s homepage, checked October 3, 2026, lists a 14-day trial with 140 checks and paid plans starting at €3 per month for 500 checks, €12 for 3,000 checks, and €45 for 15,000 checks. These are Sken.io-published figures and may change; confirm current terms on its official site.

The same page says one page checked once a minute uses 1,440 checks per day. A one-minute interval therefore consumes a monthly allowance quickly. Choose the slowest interval that still meets your needs: an alert can only follow a scheduled check that observes a change, so monitoring does not mean instant notification.
Sken.io says it retains up to 12 snapshots per task. Treat this as a rolling comparison history rather than a permanent audit archive; save important evidence separately if you need a longer record.

Review alerts and troubleshoot common problems
- No alert arrives: Confirm that the task is enabled, the URL is publicly accessible, and the notification channel is configured correctly. Then check whether the chosen interval has had time to run; detection follows a check, not the moment a change is made.
- Too many alerts: Recheck the selected region and mode. Tighten the region around the product signal, and remove recurring overlays or unrelated widgets from the comparison.
- A price change is missed or unclear: Select the displayed price itself and use content mode if the text or number is the signal. Check that the price shown on the tested public URL is the price you intend to follow.
- The page does not load as expected: Verify the copied URL in a logged-out browser. A private preview, customer-only page, or multi-step login flow is outside the public-page workflow Sken.io describes.
- The Shop app view differs from the storefront: Monitor the exact Shop product-detail URL separately if it is publicly available. Shopify documents Shop detail templates as separate from online-store themes.
- An old alert is no longer visible: Sken.io states that each task retains up to 12 snapshots, so older captures may roll out of the available history.
