To capture a webpage automatically with ScreenshotOne and Zapier, create a Zap with a trigger—such as a schedule or an event that supplies a URL—then add ScreenshotOne’s Take Website Screenshot action. Map the page URL, configure the capture, test the result, and send it to a destination app. For motion or a scrolling capture, choose ScreenshotOne’s separate animated or scrolling action instead.
Choose what should trigger a capture
A Zap has a trigger, an action, and optionally a downstream action. The trigger decides when Zapier starts the workflow; ScreenshotOne then captures the page whose URL you provide.

- Recurring monitoring: Use a schedule trigger and select a frequency such as daily, hourly, or weekly. These are examples shown on Zapier’s ScreenshotOne listing, not a guarantee that every account or plan supports every interval. Check the current integration listing and your account settings.
- Event-driven capture: Choose an upstream app or webhook that provides a page URL. Zapier’s listing describes a webhook-triggered example, with an Airtable record as one possible next step.
Decide where the result should go before building the Zap. The next app must be able to accept the image or response returned by the ScreenshotOne action in the form your workflow needs.

Set up the still-screenshot Zap
- In Zapier, create a Zap and select the trigger app and event. For a recurring capture, choose a schedule trigger; for event-based capture, choose an app or webhook that supplies the target URL.
- Add ScreenshotOne as the action app, then choose Take Website Screenshot.
- Connect your ScreenshotOne account in the Zap editor. The exact connection screens may change, so follow the prompts shown in your account rather than relying on a fixed set of labels.
- Provide the required website URL. Enter a fixed URL for the same page each time, or map the URL field supplied by the trigger.
- Set only the capture options the task requires. For example, choose a format and response type, then configure full-page capture, a viewport or device scale, a selector, timing, or content blocking as needed. Available fields can change; use the options shown in the current editor.
- Test the action against a page you are authorized to capture. Inspect the returned result and confirm that the next app can use it.
- Add the destination action, map the screenshot result to the appropriate field, test that step, and publish the Zap.
Choose the right ScreenshotOne action and options
Still image or animated/scrolling capture
Use Take Website Screenshot for a still image. Choose Render Animated or Scrolling Website Screenshot when the intended output involves motion or scrolling through the page. The animated action’s listed settings include video duration, scroll delay, and scenario; its format, response type, viewport dimensions, hiding, blocking, delay, timeout, wait behavior, and proxy settings are also listed. Select it only when that output matches what the destination app can handle.

Page coverage, viewport, and content
The still action requires a website URL and lists optional controls for a selector, full-page capture, format, response type, viewport, device scale, mobile viewport, and elements to hide. Use full-page capture when content below the initial viewport matters; use a selector when one component is the subject; and set viewport or mobile options when the rendered layout must match a particular screen size. A full-page setting does not by itself guarantee that content loaded only after scrolling will appear, so test pages with lazy-loaded content.
Waiting and blocking
The action listing also includes delay, timeout, and wait-until behavior, along with controls for banner, ad, tracker, and chat blocking. A delay can give a page time to render, while a wait condition can align capture with a page-load state. Avoid adding arbitrary waits unless testing shows they are needed: longer waits may make a scheduled workflow slower, and the right condition depends on the page.
Animated capture settings
For the animated or scrolling action, configure video duration, scroll delay, scenario, and viewport dimensions to suit the page and intended result. If you hide selectors or block banners, ads, trackers, or chats, verify that the resulting capture still includes the information your workflow needs.

If the built-in ScreenshotOne action does not expose a setting you need, Zapier lists an API Request action as a possible advanced route. Zapier labels that action beta and says it requires knowledge of HTTP requests, APIs, and API documentation. Use ScreenshotOne’s current documentation for the exact parameter names and encoding rather than guessing. Its getting-started guide documents HTTPS requests to https://api.screenshotone.com/take, with options in the query for GET requests or JSON in the body for POST requests. ScreenshotOne requires an access_key; signing is optional. The documented maximum POST request body size is 100 MiB. See ScreenshotOne’s getting-started documentation and options documentation.

For authenticated pages, ScreenshotOne documents custom authentication headers and cookies as options. Use them only for pages you own or are authorized to access; these options do not guarantee access through a third-party site’s authentication controls.

Check cost, volume, and reliability before scheduling
A recurring Zap can create many capture requests over time. The available integration details do not establish current ScreenshotOne prices, quotas, or account-specific Zapier limits, so check the applicable account plans before choosing a schedule or estimating recurring cost. Also verify that the chosen schedule and destination can handle the resulting volume.
Test the trigger, capture, and destination together, not just the ScreenshotOne step. A successful capture action does not prove that the next app can accept or store its returned result. For monitoring, confirm that the captured page and destination record correspond to the same trigger event.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The capture has no URL or uses the wrong page: Confirm that the URL field is mapped from the trigger output, or enter the intended fixed URL. Test with a known page and inspect the action input.
- The page is incomplete or still loading: Check the viewport and full-page settings, then try an appropriate wait-until condition or delay. If content appears only after scrolling, test whether the selected action and its settings capture it.
- The result is not accepted by the next app: Inspect the ScreenshotOne action’s returned result and the destination field’s expected input. Choose a compatible response type or change the downstream step to accept the returned form.
- A banner, ad, tracker, or chat widget remains visible: Review the relevant blocking options in the action. Their presence in the integration listing does not establish that every site or widget will be handled identically; test the target page.
- An authenticated page cannot be captured: Check whether the authorized account’s required header or cookies are configured, and whether the target site permits the request. Do not use credentials for pages you are not authorized to access.
- An API Request step fails: Verify the HTTPS endpoint, access key, method, parameter encoding, and body format against ScreenshotOne’s documentation. Zapier identifies API Request as beta, and the route is more technical than the built-in app action.
- Scheduled captures exceed expected usage: Recheck the trigger frequency and account-specific quotas in Zapier and ScreenshotOne. Current plan limits are not established by the integration listing.

If you would rather call a screenshot API directly, ScreenshotNeo takes a URL in one request and returns a screenshot or PDF. Cookie banners are accepted like a visitor, and more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, with response headers identifying the page verdict and billing status. An MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents.
For example, save a PNG capture of Stripe with cURL (replace the URL as needed):
