ScreenshotMachine documents command-line capture as a shell script that sends a curl request to its hosted API—not as a separate CLI executable. To capture a full page, set dimension to a width followed by xfull, such as 1366xfull, and save the response body as an image file.
Capture a full webpage with ScreenshotMachine
You need a ScreenshotMachine customer key and the page URL. The key is available after account signup. This shell example follows the vendor’s documented pattern; it is an illustrative adaptation, not a tested command. The API documentation is at ScreenshotMachine’s Website screenshot API documentation.

The width in 1366xfull is in pixels; full requests full-page height rather than a fixed-height viewport. --data-urlencode encodes parameter values for the request, and the shell redirect saves the response body to output.png.
Choose dimensions, device and output format
Full page versus viewport
Use a value such as 1024xfull or 1366xfull for a full-length capture. The API guide allows widths from 100 through 1920 pixels. A value such as 1366x768 specifies a bounded image, not the documented full-page height.

Responsive device layout
The documented device values are desktop, phone and tablet; desktop is the default. Example dimensions in the guide are desktop 1024x768, phone 480x800 and tablet 800x1280. For a full-page capture, choose the width to match the layout you want and use xfull for its height.
Image format
The API reference lists jpg, png and gif, with JPG as the default. Set format explicitly and make the output filename’s extension match it—for example, use format=jpg with output.jpg.

Adjust loading time, freshness and scale
Delay for late-loading content
The documented delay choices range from 0 to 10,000 milliseconds at listed increments. ScreenshotMachine recommends a longer delay, such as delay=2000 or more, for long pages with many images or animations. If content appears missing, increase the delay within the API’s accepted choices and capture again.

cacheLimit accepts values from 0 through 14 days. Use cacheLimit=0 when you need a fresh capture; a higher value allows a cached result up to that many days old. The vendor’s shell example includes this parameter, though the compact command above omits it.

Zoom
The documented zoom range is 10 to 400 percent, with 100 as the default. The API guide says zoom is ignored for screenshots smaller than the typical dimension associated with the selected device.

These are API parameters, so add them to the encoded argument list when the page requires them. The vendor’s longer shell example also includes zoom, cacheLimit and optional hash generation when a secret phrase is configured.
Protect API credentials and handle secret phrases
Keep the customer key out of public repositories and client-side code. If a secret phrase is configured for the account, ScreenshotMachine’s guide says a hash is calculated with MD5 from the URL concatenated with that phrase; a request with a missing or incorrect hash is ignored when a phrase is set. Follow the API documentation’s hash requirements for your account rather than exposing the secret in a script shared publicly.

Troubleshoot failed or unexpected captures
The saved file appears to be an error image
Invalid or incomplete requests may return an error image. Inspect the X-Screenshotmachine-Response header as well as the key, URL and optional hash. The guide lists invalid_hash, invalid_key, invalid_url and missing_key as response codes; correct the corresponding credential or request value and retry.
Images or animations are missing
Increase delay to allow more time for the page to render, staying within the documented 0–10,000 millisecond choices. This is the vendor’s recommended adjustment for long pages with many images or animations.
The page has the wrong layout or is stale
Check that device and dimension match the responsive layout you intend to capture. If the result may be cached, set cacheLimit=0 for a fresh result.
