Reader Mode can make an article easier to read by simplifying its presentation and letting you adjust text and layout. It is not the same as a content blocker: the browser help pages cited here describe reading views, not a guarantee that ads or other page content are prevented from loading.
Try your browser’s reading view first
Reading views are browser features, and availability can depend on the page. Google says Chrome Reading Mode is unavailable on some websites; Firefox displays its Reader View control only when a page is eligible. Open the specific Fandom article and check whether the relevant command or icon appears.

Once it opens, make sure the simplified article still contains the details you need. Wiki pages can include images, tables, links, and interactive elements; return to the regular page if the reading view omits information or controls you need.

Use Reading Mode in Chrome on a computer
- Open the Fandom article in Chrome.
- Right-click the page and select Open in reading mode. Chrome offers a full-screen reading view and a side-panel option.
- Adjust the font style and size, line and letter spacing, and theme. You can also toggle links and images; desktop Reading Mode includes read-aloud controls.
- Check the extracted article. If Reading Mode is unavailable or the content does not appear as expected, Google suggests highlighting the desired content to trigger Reading Mode. If controls are missing, update Chrome.
Google cautions that Reading Mode is not available on every website and may not work as expected with formats such as image galleries, interactive maps, forms, quizzes, payment pages, and login screens. Use Reader View in Firefox
- Open the Fandom article in Firefox.
- Look for the Reader View icon in the address bar. Mozilla says it appears when the page is available; click it to enter the simplified view.
- Adjust the font and size, content width, line height, and light, sepia, or dark theme.
Mozilla describes Reader View as removing clutter such as buttons, ads, background images, and videos. That describes the simplified view; it does not establish that every page is eligible or that unwanted elements are blocked before loading. Check the page before relying on Reader Mode
Fandom’s supported-browser help page lists current releases of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge for desktop. For mobile, it lists current Safari releases on iOS and iPadOS, and Chrome releases on iOS and Android. Fandom recommends accepting browser updates. This is a compatibility list, not a promise that reading view will be available or preserve every feature on every wiki article. See Fandom Community Central: Supported browsers.

- Availability: Does the reading-view command or icon appear on this article?
- Content: Are the headings, text, links, images, and tables you need still present?
- Controls: Can you tune text size, width, spacing, and theme enough to improve the page?
- Platform: Are you using a desktop or mobile browser, and does that combination expose the feature?
Use content blockers for a different goal
Choose Reader Mode when the problem is visual density or text presentation. Consider content-blocking controls when your goal is to filter or prevent unwanted page content. The cited Chrome and Firefox documentation explains reading-view presentation; it does not establish that reading views block every ad or network request, nor does it verify that a particular blocker works on every Fandom wiki or browser setup.
A blocker can also change page behavior. If you use one, check that the article still works and that you can reach any navigation or controls you need. Treat reading view and blocking as separate tools rather than assuming one will solve every annoyance.
