To use PngTuber Maker with Streamlabs, install the Steam app PngTuber Maker by YiMeta, load at least two PNG images showing different expressions, choose a microphone, and adjust its sound threshold. Then add the avatar to your Streamlabs scene using the virtual-camera output, if it is available and recognized by your current setup, and test it before going live.
What “Live3D” means in this guide
The available tutorial is titled “How to Use PngTuber Maker from Live 3D,” while the app covered here is the Steam application PngTuber Maker by YiMeta. This is not a general guide to similarly named browser avatar tools. Streamlabs has a tutorial for using the app, but the exact current interface and compatibility with every broadcasting setup are not established. Confirm that your version of Streamlabs can see the app’s virtual camera before relying on it in a live show.

What you need before setup
- PngTuber Maker installed through its Steam listing.
- At least two PNG images of your avatar with distinct expressions, such as a resting face and a speaking face.
- A working microphone selected as the app’s sound input.
- Streamlabs installed and a scene ready to test the avatar. The product listing identifies virtual-camera output, but does not establish that every broadcast application captures it identically.
The Steam listing states a January 25, 2023 release date and Windows 7 or later as a minimum requirement. Those are store-listing details, not an independent confirmation of current OS support; check the live listing and your system compatibility before installing.

Set up PngTuber Maker
1. Install the correct app
- Open the PngTuber Maker Steam page and verify the title and developer are YiMeta.
- Install and launch it through Steam. The listing describes the application as free; verify current availability and requirements on the store page.
2. Add expression images
- Prepare at least two PNG files showing different avatar expressions.
- Use the app’s image-upload controls to load them. Assign a neutral or closed-mouth image and a speaking or open-mouth image so sound detection has distinct states to switch between.
- If you want more variation, add additional expression images. The product listing describes support for more state images, but the exact controls may differ by version.
3. Choose the microphone and tune the threshold
- In PngTuber Maker’s audio settings, select the microphone you actually use while streaming.
- Speak at your normal distance and volume, then adjust the sound threshold until your avatar changes state when you speak without triggering constantly from room noise.
- Test again while silent, then while speaking softly and normally. There is no single sensitivity number that works for every microphone, room, or speaking style.
4. Customize only what you need
The Steam listing also describes backgrounds, avatar accessories, switching animations, virtual-camera output, and desktop-mascot use. These are optional: first confirm that the basic expression change works, then add visual effects that suit your stream.

Connect the avatar to Streamlabs
- In PngTuber Maker, enable or start its virtual-camera output using the current app controls.
- In Streamlabs, open the scene where the avatar should appear and add a video-capture source. Look for the PngTuber Maker virtual camera in the device list, then select it if it appears.
- Resize and position the capture in the scene. Speak into the configured microphone and check that the avatar changes expression in the Streamlabs preview.
- Make a short private or otherwise low-stakes test before a public broadcast. Confirm that the avatar is visible, the correct microphone drives expression changes, and the scene does not cover other important content.
If Streamlabs does not show the virtual camera, check that PngTuber Maker is open and its virtual-camera output is running, then reopen the capture-source device list. The available product information does not verify current behavior across all Streamlabs versions or capture configurations, so do not assume a particular source name or compatibility result.
Common setup problems
- The avatar never changes expression: verify the intended microphone is selected, confirm that multiple expression images are loaded, and adjust the threshold while speaking at your usual volume.
- The avatar reacts when nobody is speaking: raise the threshold gradually and retest in the room where you stream; background noise and microphone sensitivity affect detection.
- The avatar works in PngTuber Maker but is missing in Streamlabs: confirm virtual-camera output is enabled, then check the capture device list again. Current compatibility is not guaranteed for every setup.
- The avatar appears, but the wrong scene element is visible: check the selected capture device and the source order and positioning in your Streamlabs scene.
- Steam or the app reports an installation or compatibility issue: consult the live Steam page for current availability and system requirements rather than relying on its older listed minimum requirements.
