Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor a scheduled YouTube live stream, match the event’s stream key and server URL from YouTube Studio to the corresponding fields in your encoder. Start the encoder, confirm its preview in the intended Live Control Room event, then select Go live when you are ready. A YouTube Premiere is different: it is a scheduled upload, so it does not use an encoder or stream key.
YouTube’s official guidance does not describe a separate India-only key-matching process. Use the time zone shown in Studio and verify the scheduled event itself rather than relying on a video’s displayed publication date.

Match the key to the scheduled live event
A stream key is a credential for sending an encoder’s feed to YouTube Live. You need the matching YouTube server URL as well as the key; a key copied from another event may send the feed to the wrong setup. YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Keep the key private.
- Confirm livestream access. YouTube’s live-streaming tips say the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days.
- Schedule the event. In YouTube Studio, go to Create → Go live → Manage → Schedule stream. Choose new settings or reuse existing ones, and confirm that the selected setup belongs to the event you intend to broadcast.
- Copy the event’s connection details. Open the stream settings in Live Control Room and copy both the server URL and stream key.
- Enter them in your encoder. If the encoder offers YouTube as a service, select it and enter the key for the intended event. Otherwise, paste the server URL into its server or RTMP field and the key into its stream-key field.
- Check the feed before the event. YouTube recommends configuring the encoder at least two hours ahead and starting it at least 15 minutes before the event. Start sending the feed, wait for the preview in the intended Live Control Room event, and check that the video and audio are correct.
- Go live from Studio. For a scheduled encoder stream, seeing the preview is not the same as starting the public broadcast. When ready, select Go live in Live Control Room. After the event has ended on YouTube, stop the encoder.
If a key may have been exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and replace the old value in your encoder. If you reuse a key or stream settings, verify that the reused setup is attached to the scheduled event you mean to start.

Scheduled live stream or Premiere: which one uses a key?
| Format | How it works | Encoder and key? |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduled live stream | An encoder sends a live feed to a scheduled event, which you check and start in Live Control Room. | Yes. Use the server URL and stream key for the intended event. |
| Premiere | A video uploaded in advance is scheduled to play for viewers together, with live chat. | No. Upload the video, choose Schedule, set the date and time, and select Set as Premiere. |
YouTube says Shorts are not supported for Premieres, and a Premiere upload cannot exceed 1080p output. A Premiere is not a live encoder event, even if its countdown and chat make it feel like a shared broadcast.
Connect a live stream to a scheduled Premiere
If you want a live pre-show to lead into a Premiere, schedule the Premiere first, then configure Live Redirect in the live stream’s customization settings. YouTube says Live Redirect can send viewers from the ended live stream to the selected Premiere. The channel sending the redirect must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. YouTube recommends telling viewers to wait a few seconds for the player to reload. Check the current Studio controls and eligibility before event day, since interface details and availability can change.

Scheduling from India: verify the displayed time
The official YouTube help guidance reviewed does not establish a special India-specific method for matching stream keys. Schedule the event using the time and time zone displayed in Studio, communicate the intended India local time to viewers, and check the preview against the actual event before going live.

YouTube’s separate guidance on scheduling a video says the public watch-page date for a published video is based on Pacific Standard Time. That note concerns scheduled video publication; it should not be treated as proof of the local time shown for a scheduled live event in India.

Common setup problems and fixes
- No preview appears: Check that the encoder is sending to YouTube, that both the server URL and key are entered correctly, and that you are viewing the intended event in Live Control Room. Allow time for the preview to appear.
- The feed is attached to the wrong event: Stop and verify the stream settings against the scheduled event. Do not assume a key is correct because the event titles look alike.
- The preview appears but viewers cannot watch: For a scheduled encoder event, select Go live in Live Control Room when you are ready; starting the encoder alone does not complete that step.
- The key may have been shared or exposed: Reset it in Live Control Room, then update the encoder with the replacement.
- The broadcast time seems wrong: Check the event’s displayed time zone in Studio and give viewers the intended India local time. Do not use a scheduled video’s public watch-page date as a substitute for checking the live event.
- Live Redirect is unavailable: Check that the sending channel meets YouTube’s stated eligibility—more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes—and review the current Studio settings.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your scheduled event is a prerecorded video that needs to keep looping as a YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is an alternative to operating an encoder on a computer at home. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo runs the loop in the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and gives each account one free day with no card required. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for uploaded videos streamed to YouTube, not camera-based live production. See StreamNeo, or start the free day.
