007 First Light’s Photo Mode arrived in the free Extended Operations DLC, available October 1, 2026. Pause the action with the Photo Mode control shown in-game, then adjust the camera, image, pose and frame to build your shot. IO Interactive’s announcement does not specify a universal keyboard or controller shortcut, and it publishes no numeric “best settings”; use the on-screen prompt for your platform and compose by eye.
How to open Photo Mode
IO Interactive says Photo Mode can freeze the action at any moment with a single button press. The announcement does not identify that input, so check the in-game prompt or your platform’s control mapping rather than assuming the same key or button works everywhere. Photo Mode is included in the free Extended Operations DLC; it is not a separate paid mode. IO Interactive’s October 1, 2026 announcement lists the feature with the DLC, and the official Steam Update 1.3.0 notes also summarize its options.

Build a shot with the confirmed tool categories
The documented controls fall into distinct groups. A practical order is to freeze the scene, clear the interface, compose with the camera, refine the image, pose the character if desired, and finish with any frame decoration. This is a suggested workflow based on the documented categories, not an official step-by-step procedure.

- Freeze the action: Activate Photo Mode using the prompt or control mapping shown in-game.
- Clear the view: Use the basic controls to show or hide UI elements that would appear over the image.
- Compose with the camera: Adjust camera position and transformation, then tune the lens to change framing and perspective.
- Set the image treatment: Adjust brightness and compare post-processing filters or visual effects.
- Pose the character: Use the posing controls if you want to change the character’s presentation.
- Finish the frame: Choose a background or logo treatment if it suits the image.
IO Interactive groups the controls into basic game controls, camera controls, image controls and frame controls. Steam’s notes also mention overlays and visual effects. Composition advice: choose settings for the shot
There is no official numeric preset to copy. These are general composition suggestions, not tested settings or developer recommendations.
For an environmental image
Use wider framing to include more of the location, then position the camera so the environment supports the subject instead of competing with it. Check the edges of the frame for distracting UI or background elements.

For a character portrait
Try a tighter lens or framing to give the character more prominence. Adjust the camera position as well as the lens: changing perspective and changing how much of the scene fits in the frame are separate decisions.
For brightness and filters
Keep brightness restrained when highlights are already strong, and compare the unfiltered image with any post-processing look before settling on one. Filters and visual effects are optional image treatments, not a substitute for choosing a useful camera position.

For a clean or stylized finish
For a clean screenshot, hide obstructive interface elements and leave filters subtle or off; skip logos and frame decoration if you want the scene to stand on its own. For a more designed image, use post-processing or a logo treatment deliberately. Camera adjustments, posing, image processing and frame decoration are separate choices, so you can use only the controls that serve the shot.
