Set up automatic screenshot uploads to Dropbox
- Create or open a monitor. Add the page URL in PageCrawl, then set its check frequency and screenshot options. Available options can vary by plan and interface version, so confirm the current labels in the monitor editor. See PageCrawl’s website change monitoring guide.
- Connect Dropbox. In PageCrawl, go to Settings > Integrations and start Dropbox setup. Sign in to Dropbox if prompted and authorize PageCrawl.
- Choose a destination folder. Select the Dropbox folder where captures should be stored.
- Enable screenshots for the page. Check the individual monitor’s settings; connecting Dropbox alone does not establish that a page has screenshots enabled.
- Verify the result. After PageCrawl detects a change, look for the screenshot in the selected folder and in the monitor’s change history. The documented Dropbox path pattern is
{your-folder}/{page-name}/{datetime}.jpg.

Choose whether to capture changes or every check
Change-triggered screenshots
The Dropbox workflow is described as uploading a screenshot when PageCrawl detects a change, provided screenshots are enabled for that monitor. It is not documented as sending a screenshot to Dropbox on every check. If the page has not changed, do not assume a new Dropbox image will appear.

Screenshots on every check
For captures even when no change is detected, use PageCrawl’s separate Record every check setting. The documentation says this requires both Screenshots and Full Page Screenshots to be enabled. Check the current monitor, template, or workspace controls for the setting and confirm what storage destination is configured. This is a distinct behavior from the change-triggered Dropbox upload.

Check frequency and plan limits
Set the monitor’s check frequency according to how quickly you need to notice changes. The available frequency and options may depend on the plan and current interface. PageCrawl’s homepage lists plan details, but prices and limits can change; check PageCrawl’s current plans rather than relying on an old price or limit.
Decide whether a screenshot or a web archive fits
A screenshot is a flat image of a page’s appearance at capture time. It is useful for visual reference and comparison, but it does not preserve the interactive page for later browsing. PageCrawl describes its WACZ web archive as preserving the page and its assets for replay, including interaction such as scrolling and clicking.

PageCrawl documents change-triggered WACZ archiving as an Ultimate feature, with the monitor required to run every six hours or less often. To configure it, enable Web Archiving and apply the setting to an individual monitor, template, or workspace. Troubleshoot missing or unexpected screenshots
- No image appears after a check: Check whether PageCrawl detected a change. The documented Dropbox behavior is change-triggered; enable Record every check if you need a capture even when the page is unchanged.
- A changed page has no screenshot: Confirm screenshots are enabled on that specific monitor, not only that Dropbox is connected.
- Every-check captures are absent: Verify Record every check is enabled and that both Screenshots and Full Page Screenshots are on. For every-check WACZ archives, confirm Web Archiving and the required check-frequency condition.
- Dropbox connection stopped working: PageCrawl says expired Dropbox authorization disables the integration and generates a notification. Reconnect Dropbox under Settings > Integrations.
- The file is hard to locate: Check the selected destination and the documented folder structure:
{your-folder}/{page-name}/{datetime}.jpg. - Need an interactive record, not an image: Configure WACZ web archiving where your plan and check frequency allow it; screenshots alone cannot be replayed as an interactive page.
