To use MIXLINE with Streamlabs Desktop, route the audio you want in MIXLINE to its MIXLINE Stream or MIXLINE Record virtual output, then add that output in Streamlabs Desktop as an Audio Input Capture source. Check the route and levels in MIXLINE, and confirm audio activity in the Streamlabs mixer before going live. The documented MIXLINE workflow is for Windows; Streamlabs Desktop’s support for other platforms does not establish that MIXLINE is available there.
What MIXLINE does in this setup
MIXLINE, from Logitech G, is the audio-routing stage: it lets you connect device and application audio inputs to outputs, monitor them, and adjust levels. Streamlabs Desktop captures the MIXLINE virtual output you select as an audio input. An input added to MIXLINE will not be audible at an output until you route it there.

This is useful when you want different audio paths—for example, Discord in your headphones but not in the stream, or music in the stream mix but not your headphone mix. Routing changes where audio goes; it does not grant permission to stream music or other copyrighted material. Use audio you have the necessary rights to broadcast.

- Use a Windows computer for this MIXLINE workflow. Streamlabs’s MIXLINE guide, published July 16, 2024 and last updated April 25, 2025, describes MIXLINE as currently available only for Windows. Streamlabs Desktop’s separate minimum requirements do not change that platform limitation for MIXLINE. Streamlabs’s MIXLINE setup guide
- Install MIXLINE from Logitech G and have Streamlabs Desktop installed.
- Connect the audio devices you plan to use. Open any applications whose sound you want to route and make sure they are producing audio.
- Decide which MIXLINE virtual output you intend Streamlabs to capture: MIXLINE Stream or MIXLINE Record. The setup instructions describe selecting the output that matches your configured route, but do not establish that one is universally better.

Download MIXLINE from Logitech G, install it, and launch it. The instructions below apply to Windows.

Add your audio inputs and outputs
In MIXLINE, add the devices and application audio sources you need. Add your listening device, such as your headphones, as an output. Also add MIXLINE Stream or MIXLINE Record as the virtual output intended for your streaming or recording application.

Route each input to the right output
Connect an input to an output by dragging between its nodes, or use the input’s plus control and choose the target output from the menu. Repeat for each source and destination. For example, route microphone audio to both your headphones and the Stream output, while routing Discord only to your headphones if you do not want it in the stream.

Set levels and monitor the mix
Adjust the input and output levels, including submix levels if you use them. Use MIXLINE’s listening or monitor control to hear the output and verify that the intended sources are present at sensible levels. You can also inspect the displayed connections to check the route.

Add an Audio Input Capture source in Streamlabs Desktop
In Streamlabs Desktop, select the plus icon next to Sources, choose Audio Input Capture, and add the source. Give it a clear name, such as “MIXLINE.” If the device chooser does not appear automatically, open the new source’s settings and select MIXLINE Stream or MIXLINE Record—the same output that receives the audio route you configured in MIXLINE.

Test before going live
Play or speak into each source you expect to hear. Confirm the Audio Input Capture source is set to the intended MIXLINE output and that the corresponding audio activity appears in the Streamlabs mixer. Streamlabs recommends checking for mixer-bar movement before going live. If a source is missing or silent, use the checks below rather than assuming the route is working.
Choose the output that matches your route
MIXLINE Stream and MIXLINE Record are both listed as virtual outputs that can be selected by the application. Select the one to which you routed the desired audio, then select that same output in Streamlabs Desktop. The available setup instructions do not document a universal technical difference that makes one the right choice for every setup.

Troubleshoot missing or silent audio
| What you notice | What to check |
|---|---|
| An input does not appear in MIXLINE | Check that the audio device is connected. For application audio, open the app and make sure it is running and producing sound. |
| An input appears but is silent | Confirm that the input has a route to the output you want to hear. Newly added inputs are not audible until routed. Check the input and output levels, then use MIXLINE’s listening or monitor control. |
| Streamlabs does not receive the intended mix | Open the Audio Input Capture source settings and verify that its selected device is the same MIXLINE Stream or MIXLINE Record output receiving the route in MIXLINE. Check that the route is connected and that levels are not turned down. |
