Plan the device inventory and management model first; available products, downloads and licenses depend on your country.
1. Inventory the devices you need to protect
Before selecting a product or starting an installation, list the company’s workstations, servers and mobile devices. Record their operating systems, locations and whether they connect regularly to the company network. Kaspersky describes support for mixed endpoint environments, but the supported operating systems and configurations depend on the specific product and version. Check the current requirements for your chosen edition before rollout.

- Identify devices at branch offices and used by remote staff.
- Note any network restrictions, including isolated or air-gapped environments.
- Decide who will administer security and whether responsibilities should be divided among administrators.
2. Choose an offering and management model
Kaspersky says Endpoint Security for Windows has evolved into Kaspersky Next. Its current small- and medium-business materials list EDR Foundations and EDR Optimum. Compare the capabilities that the business needs rather than assuming one edition suits every organization. Kaspersky’s feature lists include endpoint protection and, depending on tier, capabilities such as vulnerability management, cloud discovery and automated response. Features and names can change, so confirm the current feature matrix and license eligibility for your country before buying.
Next, decide where the management console will run. Kaspersky describes a cloud SaaS console as well as on-premises management options, including MMC and Web Console. The cloud route avoids hosting an on-premises management server; an on-premises setup may better fit organizations with particular control or network requirements, but the organization must manage that infrastructure. Consider remote administration, internal policy and network access when choosing.

| Choice | What it means | Consider it when |

| Cloud console | Use Kaspersky’s cloud-based management console; the download page directs administrators to create an account for this route. Kaspersky business downloads | You want cloud-based administration and do not want to host the management server on your premises. |
| On-premises management | Install Kaspersky Security Center and manage deployment through its available console options. Kaspersky business downloads | Your organization needs an on-premises management layer and can maintain it. |
Kaspersky Security Center is the management layer for configuring and deploying protection, managing policies and tasks, updating devices and reviewing reports. Kaspersky also describes role-based access, which can help organizations assign different administrative responsibilities. Details and availability may vary among products and consoles; verify the current documentation for your chosen setup. Kaspersky Security Center
3. Confirm local access and licensing
Do not assume that a download or license route available in one country applies elsewhere. Kaspersky’s US downloads page says business downloads are unavailable for US customers and directs non-US customers to Kaspersky.com. Check the relevant regional business page or an authorized local contact for the current download, purchase and support options. The reviewed materials do not establish universal prices or license eligibility. Kaspersky business downloads

4. Install the management layer and deploy endpoint protection
For an on-premises managed rollout, install Kaspersky Security Center first. Kaspersky’s instructions then direct administrators to obtain the required distributions through the management console as they deploy protection to endpoints. The vendor also describes direct installation through an installation wizard on supported devices. Use the product’s current Quick Start Guide for an overview and the version-specific Online Help for exact screens, requirements and procedures; the older Quick Start Guide is introductory, not a substitute for current instructions. Kaspersky Security Center Quick Start Guide
- Prepare the management route. For cloud management, create the account through the applicable regional Kaspersky business download page. For on-premises management, install Security Center according to the instructions for its current version.
- Get the correct endpoint distribution. In a managed rollout, retrieve the distribution required for the selected product from the management console. Confirm it matches the operating system and product version.
- Install on a pilot group. Start with a small group of representative devices. Follow the current installation wizard or console workflow and verify that endpoints appear in the management console.
- Check applications and protection status. Confirm business applications still work as expected, devices report in, and protection and updates are functioning before expanding deployment.
- Expand in stages. Roll out to additional device groups after the pilot is satisfactory. Use the current product’s Online Help for version-specific deployment details.
Kaspersky’s Quick Start Guide describes express installation and initial configuration for network administrators. For current setup steps, use the documentation corresponding to the exact product and version you have licensed. Quick Start Guide

5. Apply policies and manage protection centrally
After installation, use the management console to organize endpoints and apply policies and tasks. Central administration can standardize protection settings, coordinate updates and provide reports across managed devices. Begin with a limited device group, check for conflicts with business applications, then extend the policies and deployment in stages. Kaspersky describes grouping endpoints and assigning administrator roles; configure access so each administrator has the responsibilities and permissions needed for their work.
- Review endpoint status and reports in the console.
- Use policies to apply consistent settings to the appropriate device groups.
- Schedule and monitor tasks, including updates, through the management tools available for your product.
- Review administrative roles and access as responsibilities change.
6. Check migration requirements for an existing installation
If you already use Endpoint Security for Windows, Kaspersky describes it as having evolved into Kaspersky Next. Its advanced endpoint page says that some users moving to Kaspersky Next can replace the license and continue using their existing console, or follow guidance to move to cloud-based consoles. Treat this as vendor-published guidance, not a guarantee that every license and installation can migrate in the same way. Confirm applicability to your exact product, license and management setup before changing a production environment. Kaspersky advanced endpoint security
