How legacy Hotels.com Rewards Nights worked
Hotels.com’s Rewards: How it works page describes the older stamp system. Its instructions should be treated as legacy program mechanics, not confirmation that the benefit is currently available to every account.

Earn stamps and a reward night
The legacy page says members earned one stamp for each eligible night. Ten stamps produced one reward night. The reward night’s value was based on the average value of those ten stamps before taxes and fees—not a fixed cash amount.

If it cost less, the unused value was forfeited. The page also said members could not collect stamps or redeem reward nights when using a discount coupon or booking a package holiday.

Redeem a reward night, according to the legacy instructions
- Sign in to the Hotels.com Rewards account before booking an eligible stay, so stamps can be credited. The legacy page says stamps post after checkout.
- After earning ten stamps, sign in and search for properties eligible for Hotels.com Rewards.
- Select “Redeem reward* nights,” choose a room, and select “Pay online.”
- At checkout, choose “Apply a coupon or Hotels.com® Rewards” and select a reward night.
The legacy page said stamps and reward nights expired if a member had not made and completed a booking using the Rewards account in the previous 12 months. Because current availability and transition rules are not confirmed in the cited official material, check the reward balance and terms displayed in your account before relying on this process.
How to use OneKeyCash on Hotels.com
Current Hotels.com guidance describes OneKeyCash as a dollar-denominated reward for eligible travel: $1 in confirmed OneKeyCash gives $1 off eligible travel. It is not the same as a legacy Rewards Night, and eligibility depends on the booking and property.

Hotels.com’s Save Your Way instructions describe a choice at checkout on eligible discounted hotel bookings:

- Choose an eligible hotel displaying a discount badge and select a room.
- Choose “Pay Now.”
- At checkout, choose whether to take the discount immediately or bank the savings as OneKeyCash for later.
Banked savings first appear as pending. The Save Your Way page says they become confirmed three days after the trip is completed. Once confirmed, they can be applied at checkout to eligible future hotel stays. The page says no minimum purchase is required on Hotels.com, but that does not remove booking or property eligibility requirements.

Apply confirmed OneKeyCash to a booking
When booking an eligible stay, sign in and select the option to apply available confirmed OneKeyCash at checkout. The cited instructions specifically describe eligible hotel bookings and Pay Now for Save Your Way; they do not establish that OneKeyCash works on every property or payment option. Review the checkout total and the terms shown for that booking before paying.

Confirmation timing depends on the booking type. Hotels.com’s One Key overview gives these general timings after trip completion:

These are general program timings, not a guarantee for every booking. Pending rewards are not yet confirmed funds available to apply at checkout.
Hotels.com’s Save Your Way terms distinguish two eligible-booking intervals: booking-earned OneKeyCash remains valid when an eligible booking is made at least once within 18 months, while Save Your Way OneKeyCash banked for later remains valid when an eligible booking is made within three years. OneKeyCash cannot be transferred to another member or redeemed for cash. Check the current One Key terms and your account for any applicable exceptions or updated conditions.
