Use two separate Hexowatch monitors: an availability monitor to alert you when a URL becomes unavailable or returns, and a visual monitor to flag changes to a page or a selected area. A visual comparison does not measure uptime, and a URL availability alert does not prove that every feature of your site works.

Set up visual change monitoring
- Select Hexowatch’s visual monitoring tool.
- Enter the page URL and preview it.
- Choose whether to monitor the whole page or a specific selection. Hexowatch’s walkthrough says you can choose “the whole page” or “a specific selection” after the page loads.
- Choose the check frequency and notification channel or channels. The walkthrough also mentions optional start and end dates.
- Start monitoring and review the alerts as they arrive.
Reduce noise from routine changes
If a page includes content that changes often—such as a rotating promotion, live feed, or changing timestamp—consider selecting a stable, important region rather than the whole page. This is a practical way to focus the comparison, not a claim that Hexowatch automatically filters every dynamic element. Review early alerts and adjust the monitored area if ordinary changes create too many notifications.

Create an availability monitor for the exact URL whose reachability matters. Interpret an alert narrowly
An availability alert is a signal about that URL. It does not establish that checkout, login, scripts, or another user journey is functioning, nor does it show that every visitor or region experiences the same result. The reviewed Hexowatch product information does not establish a contractual uptime service-level agreement, a measured uptime percentage, or comprehensive browser testing of all site functions.
Choose a cadence, notification channel, and plan
Hexowatch’s visual walkthrough lets you choose a check frequency and notification channels. Availability of a particular interval or integration can depend on the plan, so verify the current terms before setting expectations.

Troubleshooting and limits
- Visual alerts fire on routine updates: Narrow the monitored scope to a stable area, then review subsequent alerts. Do not assume every dynamic element is filtered automatically.
- You need to know whether the site is reachable: Use an availability monitor in addition to a visual monitor; appearance comparison alone is not an uptime check.
- The URL appears available, but a feature is broken: Treat the availability signal as URL-level, not proof that a full workflow works. Test the affected feature separately.
- You cannot find a desired interval or notification integration: Check the options on your account and the current plan terms; do not assume every option is included on every plan.
- You need information about JavaScript-rendered pages, password-protected areas, or retention: The reviewed FAQ lists these topics as questions but does not provide answers, so verify directly with Hexowatch before relying on a specific behavior.
