Before you set up a stream
Check YouTube livestream eligibility
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a livestreaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. The minimum age to livestream is 16. Check the channel in YouTube Studio before spending time preparing a playlist. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance for current requirements.

Confirm you have the rights to everything in the playlist
Only stream video and audio you have the right to broadcast. Live content remains subject to YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and YouTube can restrict livestream access. Repeating a video does not make it exempt from copyright or platform policies.
Do not assume that a continuous prerecorded stream will be monetized. Monetization depends on your channel’s eligibility and settings in YouTube Studio, as well as compliance with YouTube policies. Gyre’s tools do not guarantee ads, reach, revenue, or approval for monetization.

Prepare the prerecorded video files
Have the source files available
Gyre’s workflow requires video files to be uploaded to Gyre storage. You cannot simply paste links to videos already published on YouTube or add an existing YouTube playlist in place; obtain the original files and upload them. Gyre describes its supported input as prerecorded video. See its video preparation guidance.
Use the listed HD and Full HD specifications as a starting point
Gyre’s help page lists these HD/Full HD values:
- Resolution: 1920×1080 or 1280×720
- Video codec: H.264
- Video bitrate: 3072–6144 kbps
- Audio bitrate: 128 kbps
- Frame rate: 30 fps
The same page includes “44.1 kHz” under a “Frame rates” heading. Since kHz is not a frame-rate unit, treat that entry as a labeling ambiguity, not a confirmed sample-rate requirement; check with Gyre if your audio settings depend on it.

Make the playlist coherent
Choose videos with a consistent subject and remove overlays or references that will feel dated during a long-running stream. Gyre recommends a playlist of at least one hour and ideally three to five hours. That is Gyre’s editorial advice, not a YouTube minimum or a guarantee of better performance. A longer playlist can reduce how often viewers see the same sequence repeat, but it does not change eligibility or monetization rules.

- Upload the source videos to Gyre Storage. Ensure each file finishes uploading before you use it in the playlist.
- Create a playlist and arrange its order. Put the videos in the intended sequence and check the list for missing or unwanted items.
- Review compatibility. Gyre says it provides a converter to help adapt files whose codec, resolution, or bitrate do not fit platform needs. If you convert a file, inspect the resulting video and audio rather than assuming conversion guarantees a good stream.

Connect YouTube and configure the broadcast
Gyre describes both a YouTube API authorization workflow and a manual stream-key workflow. The exact controls available can vary with Gyre’s current interface, so use the labels shown in your account rather than relying on a fixed click path.
Choose API authorization or manual setup
- Authorize the YouTube channel through Gyre: Gyre’s API workflow can create a broadcast, transfer metadata, and use an existing or generated stream key without manually copying the key. Review the account authorization scopes before approving access.
- Use a stream key and RTMP address manually: Gyre says this remains available for creators who need advanced YouTube Studio configurations. Handle the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to send video to your channel.
Gyre’s YouTube API automation update describes these options. If you stop using an authorized service, review connected apps in your Google account and revoke access you no longer need.

Set the stream details
Enter an accurate title and description, choose an appropriate thumbnail, and set any other available broadcast details before going live. Gyre says its API workflow can pass metadata to the broadcast. Verify the resulting stream details in YouTube Studio, especially if the broadcast must use a particular audience, visibility, or monetization configuration.

- Choose the prepared playlist and destination channel in Gyre.
- Start the stream or schedule it using the controls available in your Gyre account. Gyre describes a Streams Scheduler, but says availability differs by plan; check its current plan information before relying on scheduling.
- Confirm the broadcast is live in YouTube Studio. Check that the correct video is playing and the title, description, thumbnail, and other settings are right.
- Keep YouTube’s simultaneous-stream limits in mind. YouTube documents a ceiling of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key; both limits apply at the same time. These are separate from any Gyre plan capacity.
Gyre says its cloud runs the playlist continuously and loops it. A cloud workflow removes the need for your own computer to remain the streaming machine, but you should still check the live broadcast and account notifications after launch.
API authorization or manual stream key: which should you use?

These are workflow differences, not guarantees about security or stream quality. Gyre’s plan limits and scheduling availability can change, so verify the current details in your account before choosing based on capacity.
Common problems and fixes
- The channel will not connect or start a livestream: Confirm verification, age eligibility, and that no livestream restriction is active. YouTube’s eligibility rules apply regardless of the streaming service.
- A YouTube video or playlist link does not appear in Gyre: Upload the actual source file to Gyre Storage; existing YouTube uploads are not simply linked into the workflow.
- A file fails compatibility checks or plays poorly: Compare it with Gyre’s listed HD/Full HD codec, resolution, bitrate, and frame-rate values. If you use Gyre’s converter, inspect the converted output before relying on it.
- The stream does not start with manual setup: Check that the selected YouTube stream key and RTMP address match the intended broadcast. If using API authorization instead, verify the channel authorization and broadcast details.
- The stream starts but has the wrong details: Check the metadata and settings in YouTube Studio. API transfer does not remove the need to confirm the resulting broadcast.
- Scheduling or the desired number of streams is unavailable: Check Gyre’s current plan features and capacity, then separately check YouTube’s active-stream limits.
- Ads do not appear or monetization is unavailable: Check channel eligibility and the relevant setting in YouTube Studio. Continuous playback alone does not confer monetization eligibility.
