How to enter a Fortnite island code
-
Launch Fortnite and open Play. If Discover is not already open, scroll down to reveal the Search bar. The exact screen layout may vary slightly between interface versions.

How to find maps in Discover without a code
Type the island’s title into the Discover Search bar, or scroll through categories and open one that interests you. Rows such as Trending and By Epic are examples, not a permanent directory: category names, order, and available selections can change. If a familiar row is missing, search by title instead.

Why an island may not appear in Discover
Discover visibility depends on how the creator published the island:

| Publication state | What it means for players |
|---|---|
| Listed | The published island is eligible to appear in Discover, though that does not guarantee it will be shown in a particular category or at a particular time. |
| Unlisted | The published island has a code and can be played by anyone who uses it, but it is not available through Discover browsing. |
| Unpublished | The island has no player-accessible release and no island code to use. |
These distinctions are described in Epic’s Publishing Page Features documentation. If the creator gave you a code but the island is missing from category browsing, try the code directly; it may be unlisted.

The island page says it is locked
Fortnite parental controls can block an island whose rating is above the account’s allowed level. The island details show its rating; the unlock flow requires a parental PIN, and a guardian can manage access afterward. Ratings are regional: the system shown depends on the player’s location, so use the rating and descriptors displayed on the island page rather than assuming another region’s label applies.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do you need to enter Creative mode?
No. To launch an island from a code or find it in Discover, use Play and Discover; entering Creative mode or the Creative hub is not required. Epic’s Creative installation and launch guide covers the separate route into Creative.
