FireShot is an Edge extension that can capture a full webpage, the visible area, or a selected area. Install it from Microsoft Edge Add-ons, open the page you want, launch FireShot from Edge’s extension controls, choose the capture type, then save the result as PDF, PNG, or JPEG—or copy it to the clipboard. Exact FireShot menu labels can vary; confirm them in the version installed in your browser.
Install FireShot in Microsoft Edge
- Open the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store and find FireShot, published by getfireshot.com.
- Select the store’s install control and follow the prompts shown by your current version of Edge.
- After installation, open Edge’s extensions control to locate FireShot. If you want it readily available, use Edge’s current extension controls to pin or surface it, if that option is shown.
The current store listing describes FireShot’s features but does not establish every installation prompt or current menu label. Follow the browser and store wording you see rather than relying on older screenshots or instructions.

Capture a webpage with FireShot
- Open the webpage in Edge and wait for the content you need to appear.
- Launch FireShot using its icon in Edge’s extension controls or the menu available in your installed version.
- Choose the capture mode that fits the result you need: full page for content beyond the visible screen, visible area for what is currently on screen, or selected area for a specific region.
- When the capture is ready, save it in an offered format—PDF, PNG, or JPEG—or copy it to the clipboard. The exact controls depend on the installed version.
Choose the right capture mode
- Full page: Use this for a long page that extends below the current viewport.
- Visible area: Use this when you only need the part currently displayed.
- Selected area: Use this when the capture should include only a particular region.
Choose an output
The Edge Add-ons listing advertises PDF, PNG, and JPEG saving, as well as clipboard copying and offline operation. Check the installed extension’s controls to confirm the options available to you.

Use Edge’s built-in Screenshot instead
Edge also has a built-in Screenshot feature for capturing a full page or selected area. Microsoft documents three ways to open it: right-click a webpage, use Edge Settings, or press Ctrl+Shift+S. Choose based on the capture mode and output you need: FireShot’s listing explicitly describes three export formats, while Edge’s feature is built into the browser and offers full-page or selected-area capture with markup and copy/save controls. Neither choice is best for every task.

Troubleshooting
FireShot does not appear in Edge
Check the browser’s extensions control and confirm FireShot is installed in the Edge profile where the target page is open. If it is not listed, revisit Microsoft Edge Add-ons and follow the current installation prompts.
The menu wording does not match these steps
FireShot’s current store listing does not specify exact Edge menu labels. Open the extension’s current controls and identify the full-page, visible-area, or selected-area action by its wording in your version.

The capture is missing content
Wait for the page content you need to load before starting the capture. For a page that extends beyond the viewport, choose full-page rather than visible-area capture. Pages with changing or moving content may not produce the same result at every moment.
You cannot find a format or Pro feature
The listing advertises PDF, PNG, and JPEG, and places editing, printing, batch tab-to-PDF, and OneNote export among Pro features. Check the installed version and current listing for availability; the listing does not guarantee that every control appears in every configuration.

Try another documented access route—right-click the webpage, Edge Settings, or Ctrl+Shift+S. Microsoft says availability and functionality can vary by device type, market, and browser version.

Can FireShot capture only part of a webpage in Edge?
Yes. FireShot’s Edge Add-ons listing advertises selected-area capture as well as full-page and visible-area capture.
