To stop Chrome asking for a fingerprint, face, or screen-lock check during sensitive autofill on Android, turn off Verify it’s you when filling sensitive info in Chrome’s Autofill settings. This removes Chrome’s extra verification prompt for that autofill flow; it does not turn off your Android device screen lock.
Turn off Chrome’s verification prompt
- Open Chrome and tap More (the three-dot menu), then Settings.
- Under Passwords and autofill—also labelled Autofill and passwords in Google’s current instructions—tap Autofill settings.
- Turn off Verify it’s you when filling sensitive info.
Google says the setting is on by default. With it off, “authentications like screen lock or biometric verification won’t appear when you attempt to autofill sensitive info.” See Google’s Android autofill instructions.

Menu wording and availability can vary by Chrome version, language, or administrator policy. If you do not see the exact labels, look in Chrome Settings for Autofill settings and the verification option. A work or school administrator may manage some autofill settings.

This switch controls Chrome’s additional verification in the sensitive-autofill flow. It is separate from Android’s device screen lock, which remains in place. Google says Password Manager on Android uses the device screen lock to access saved passwords and passkeys; switching off Chrome’s autofill verification should not be treated as disabling that protection. Keep autofill, Auto sign-in, and provider choice separate
These controls affect different parts of signing in. Change only the one that matches the behavior you want.

Use saved passwords after changing the setting
To fill a saved password, open a site you have visited, go to its sign-in form, and select the username field to choose saved sign-in information. That saved-password autofill action is distinct from whether Chrome automatically signs you in without confirmation. Google’s Android password instructions describe both behaviors.
