Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesSamsung’s Second Screen feature turns a supported Galaxy tablet into an extra display for a compatible Windows PC. You can extend your desktop, mirror it, and, depending on the setup, control the PC by touch or S Pen. It works over Wireless Display, and Samsung’s Korean documentation also describes an experimental USB option. Not every Galaxy Tab or Windows PC supports it, and Samsung’s regional support lists differ. Check your exact model first.
Check compatibility before you start
Three things decide whether this will work: the tablet model, its One UI version, and the PC’s Wireless Display support.

Tablet and software requirements by region
| Samsung source | Tablets listed | Minimum One UI | PC requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung US support | Galaxy Tab S7, S8, S9, S10 families | 3.1 | Select PCs with Wireless Display, Windows 10 version 2004 or later |
| Samsung Canada support (updated 2026-02-05, devices sold in Canada) | Tab S7 and S8 series | 3.1 | Windows 10 version 2004 or later with Wireless Display |
| Samsung Korea support (dated 2024-12-06) | Tab S11 and S11 Ultra; S10+, S10 Ultra, S10 Lite, S10 FE, S10 FE+; S9, S9+, S9 Ultra, S9 FE, S9 FE+; S8, S8+, S8 Ultra; S7, S7+, S7 FE; Active4 Pro; Active5 | 5.1.1 | Galaxy Book with Windows 11 24H2 or later recommended; PC wireless hardware, graphics hardware and drivers must support Wireless Display |
These lists are not harmonized, so treat none of them as a universal answer. The Canadian page is the narrowest even though it is recent. If your tablet is missing from your local page but appears on another region’s, look for Second Screen in Quick Settings. Samsung does not promise the feature outside its documented lists. For context, Samsung’s 2022 Galaxy Tab S8 launch announcement described support for Galaxy Book PCs and Tab S7/S7+ or later, with a Wireless Display-capable Windows 10 PC on version 2004 or later. That is background, not a current list.

Set up Second Screen over Wi-Fi
- Confirm your tablet and One UI version appear in your local Samsung support page, and that the PC supports Wireless Display.
- Put both devices close together on the same Wi-Fi network. Samsung’s US and Canadian pages both say: “For the best results, make sure the two devices are close to each other and are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.”
- On the tablet, open Quick Settings and tap Second Screen. In Samsung Canada’s instructions, choose Drawing/gaming or Video, and leave that page open while you connect.
- On the PC, press Windows+K, or open display settings and choose to connect to a wireless display. Select your tablet when it appears. Samsung Korea also documents starting the connection from a Second Screen app on the PC.
- Choose how the PC uses the tablet (see below). If you want to control the PC from the tablet, allow input when offered.
- When finished, disconnect from Windows or from the tablet. Labels may differ slightly by software and market.
Pick the right display behavior
- Extend desktop: the tablet adds workspace. Good for parking chat, reference material or a toolbar off your main screen.
- Duplicate desktop: the tablet mirrors the PC. Useful for presenting or viewing the same content on a second display.
- Second screen only: the PC display is turned off and only the tablet shows the desktop. Samsung US lists this alongside the other two in Windows display settings.
On Samsung Canada’s setup page, Drawing/gaming and Video are the two modes offered when starting the feature on the tablet. Pick the one that matches your task; Samsung gives no figures comparing them.
Touch, mouse, keyboard and S Pen
Samsung US says you can navigate the PC interface with the computer’s mouse or the tablet’s touch screen. Samsung Canada describes an option to allow mouse, keyboard, touch and pen input. Samsung Korea describes touch and S Pen input too, and notes that S Pen latency varies by application. Samsung publishes no latency, resolution or refresh-rate figures for Second Screen, so expect wireless performance to depend on your Wi-Fi, the PC and the app. If precise drawing matters, test your own app before relying on it.

The experimental USB connection
Samsung Korea documents a USB connection as experimental. It requires Windows 11 version 24H2 on the PC and One UI 7.0 or later on the tablet. It sits outside the baseline wireless setup, and the sources don’t confirm it in the US or Canada. Treat it as available only where your local Samsung documentation or device offers it.
