To upgrade planes efficiently in Wings of Heroes, focus your plane-specific Parts and Silver on aircraft you actually plan to fly, then reserve shared Tokens for the technologies you want to take beyond tier 2. Parts are tied to individual planes, while Tokens can be used across planes; check each upgrade’s current in-game requirements before spending because progression costs and pacing changed in 2026.
What each upgrade resource does
The Wings of Heroes Help Center describes four resources relevant to plane progression. They do different jobs, so having one resource does not necessarily let you complete an upgrade.

| Resource | How it applies to plane progression |
|---|---|
| Parts | Plane-specific; used with Silver for technologies through tier 2. |
| Tokens | Shared across planes; required for technology upgrades beyond tier 2. |
| Silver | Base currency used alongside Parts to upgrade unlocked planes. |
| Blueprints | Plane-specific resources used to unlock planes in tiers you have reached. Blueprints for a plane you already own convert into that plane’s Parts. |
| Gold | Premium currency used primarily for time-limited activities, Wheel of Fortune spins, and store currencies or offers. The Help Center does not describe Gold as a required technology-upgrade resource. |
The Wings of Heroes Help Center’s currency and resources guide explains these uses.

How to allocate Parts, Silver, and Tokens
Concentrate plane-specific Parts
Because each plane has its own Parts, spending them across aircraft you rarely use can leave less available for the plane you want to improve. A sensible planning approach is to focus Parts and the required Silver on an aircraft you expect to fly. This is an inference from the resource rules, not an official build recommendation or proof of the single most efficient strategy.

Save shared Tokens for the next tier
Parts cover technologies through tier 2; upgrades beyond tier 2 need Tokens. Since Tokens work across planes, consider which aircraft’s higher-tier technologies matter most to your progression before using them. The game’s official material does not publish a universal technology order, so the best choice depends on the plane you use and the requirements shown in your game.
Check the full cost before committing
Parts alone are not enough for the upgrades described by the Help Center: Silver is used alongside them. Review the current in-game cost and requirements before spending, especially if you are relying on older guides. Ten Square Games reported changes to unlock costs and upgrade pacing in its 2026 progression update.

Understand how Parts are distributed
The Help Center describes three Parts distribution types. These rules explain where rewards may go; they do not let you choose or guarantee a specific drop.
- Random Parts: distributed across planes you own.
- Highest Tier: rewards prioritize planes in the highest tier you have unlocked.
- Premium Parts: go to owned planes that are not fully upgraded.
Knowing which type applies helps set expectations: a reward may not advance the particular aircraft you are currently prioritizing.

Where to get upgrade resources
Officially listed sources include battles, battle crates, events, Wheel of Fortune, Battle Pass, and the in-game store, with sources varying by resource.
| Resource | Listed sources |
|---|---|
| Parts | Battle crates, event rewards, Wheel of Fortune, Battle Pass, and the store. |
| Tokens | Battles, events, Wheel of Fortune, Battle Pass, and the store. |
| Silver | Battles, battle crates, events, Wheel of Fortune, and the store. |
| Blueprints | Blue battle crates, event rewards, Wheel of Fortune, Battle Pass, and the store. |
The Help Center lists these channels but does not compare quantities, drop rates, time required, or returns. That means there is no supported basis here for calling one activity the fastest way to farm a particular resource. Check current rewards in-game rather than assuming an older route is still best.

Account for the 2026 progression changes
Ten Square Games reported a progression update in 2026 that introduced four aircraft rarities—Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary—and changed blueprint distribution, unlock costs, and upgrade pacing. The developer said Common aircraft are easier to unlock and that rarer aircraft are more clearly differentiated within each tier. These are the developer’s stated design goals, not independent evidence that every player will upgrade faster or find progression more rewarding.

What is not established
The official sources do not give per-plane upgrade-cost tables, a tested technology priority list, a comparison of plane performance by build, or a measured fastest farming route. They therefore do not establish a universally best plane or upgrade sequence. Use the resources and current requirements shown in-game to make choices for your own aircraft and progression.
