First identify whether your Astro A50 Gen 4 is the PlayStation (PS) or Xbox (XB) version, then use the matching Logitech setup guide. Logitech’s Gen 4 support page says its Firmware Update Tool is no longer supported or maintained, and the official material available here does not confirm a current Gen 4 firmware-update procedure. Don’t assume that instructions for the Gen 3 headset apply.
Identify your A50 Gen 4 version
The Astro A50 Gen 4 has separate PlayStation and Xbox setup paths. Check the labels on your headset and base station to identify the version before following instructions or looking for a replacement. Logitech provides distinct guides for each:

Logitech’s A50 Gen 4 PS support page carries a notice that the Firmware Update Tool is no longer supported or maintained. The Gen 4 pages linked above do not provide a verified current firmware-update workflow. They also do not establish that Logi Options+ can update this headset, so don’t rely on it as a confirmed updater.

Logitech has a separate article about updating firmware on the A50 headset and base station Gen 3. It describes Gen 3, not Gen 4, and should not be treated as a Gen 4 procedure: Updating firmware on A50 + Base Station Gen 3.
If your headset is not connecting to its base station
Confirm the headset and base station are the same Gen 4 console variant, then follow the corresponding Logitech setup guide. If you are considering buying a replacement base station, verify its exact model and compatibility with Logitech before ordering. The available Gen 4 support material does not provide a replacement-parts compatibility list, so a product listing alone is not enough to establish that a part will work.

Where to get help with a Gen 4 update
If you need to update firmware, the headset is stuck during an attempted update, or the setup guide does not resolve a connection issue, contact Logitech Support with your headset and base-station model details. Ask for instructions specific to A50 Gen 4 and your PS or Xbox variant rather than applying a Gen 3 workflow.
