How to Unsubscribe From an Unwanted Calendar on iPhone, iPad, or Mac

Use Calendar’s Unsubscribe control to remove a subscribed calendar. The steps differ slightly on iPhone, iPad, and Mac; shared and account calendars may need different controls.

To remove a calendar subscription, use Calendar’s Unsubscribe control—not just the option to hide the calendar. On iPhone and iPad, open the Calendars list and use the info button beside the calendar; on Mac, Control-click it in the calendar list and choose Unsubscribe.

Unsubscribe on iPhone

Apple’s current iPhone removal instructions apply to iOS 26 or later. The Calendars button is at the bottom of the screen.

  1. Open the Calendar app and tap Calendars.
  2. Tap the info button next to the unwanted calendar.

If Calendar offers Unsubscribe and Report Junk and you believe the subscription is junk, you can choose that instead. Apple says this reports the calendar as a suspected junk subscription.

Unsubscribe on Mac

  1. Open Calendar. If the calendar list is not visible, choose View > Show Calendar List.
  2. Control-click the unwanted calendar in the list.
  3. Choose Unsubscribe.

Apple says the unsubscribe action on Mac can also report a calendar as junk.

Choose the right action for the calendar

Not every calendar you do not want to see is a subscription. The right control depends on how the calendar is managed.

Action What it does Use it when
Unsubscribe Removes the subscription. The subscription’s source controls the events in it. You subscribed to the calendar and want to stop receiving it.
Hide Stops displaying the calendar’s events in your current view; the calendar remains. You only want to clear it from view, or Calendar does not allow it to be removed. Apple gives the US Holidays calendar as an example of one that can be hidden.
Delete Calendar Removes a calendar that can be deleted. Calendar offers this choice for that calendar type. Avoid deleting a personal calendar simply because you want its events out of sight.
Change sharing or account settings Changes access to a shared calendar or manages a calendar supplied by an account. The calendar is shared with you or comes from a third-party account rather than a subscription.
Unsubscribe and Report Junk Unsubscribes and reports a suspected junk calendar to Apple. You suspect the subscription is junk and Calendar offers this option.

To hide a calendar, open the Calendars list and deselect it. That only changes what is displayed; it does not unsubscribe you.

If the calendar is shared or belongs to an account

Unsubscribing is for calendars you subscribed to. If someone shared a calendar with you, use the sharing controls that apply to that calendar; stopping sharing and unsubscribing from another person’s calendar are different actions.

If a calendar comes from a third-party account and cannot be removed in Calendar, Apple advises trying the account provider’s website. Google is one example, but the exact controls depend on the provider; Apple’s guidance does not establish provider-specific steps here.

What to expect across devices and older software

An iCloud calendar subscription can appear on devices set up with the same Apple Account, so you may see it on more than one device. Apple’s removal instructions for iPhone are for iOS 26 or later. Its iCloud subscription guidance describes a separate add-subscription flow for iOS and iPadOS 18 or earlier, so menu names and steps may differ on older versions; do not assume the iOS 26 sequence applies unchanged.

Apple advises: “Make sure you trust the source of your calendar.”
