Choose by size first: the iPhone 18 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra has a 6.9-inch display. The iPhone is the smaller option; the Galaxy gives you more screen area. Their listed weights are close—211g and 214g, respectively—so screen size, rather than a meaningful weight gap, is the clearest hardware distinction for everyday handling. That is an inference from published specifications, not an ergonomic test.
Which Samsung Galaxy is being compared?
“The latest Samsung Galaxy” here means the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung’s current flagship on its U.S. product page as of October 4, 2026. This comparison uses official manufacturer specifications and U.S. pricing, not hands-on testing. Prices and availability can differ by country, retailer, or carrier.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra has the larger display at 6.9 inches, compared with 6.3 inches on iPhone 18 Pro. Favor Samsung if viewing area is a priority—for example, when reading or watching on the phone. Favor the iPhone if you would rather have the smaller footprint. The listed weights differ by just 3g, so weight alone does not establish a clear advantage.

How much do they cost in the U.S.?
Apple announced a U.S. starting price of $1,199 for iPhone 18 Pro, with storage from 256GB to 2TB. Samsung’s U.S. unlocked page listed the Galaxy S26 Ultra at $1,299.99 for 256GB, $1,499.99 for 512GB, and $1,799.99 for 1TB. Compare the storage tier you actually need, then check the current price in your country and any eligible trade-in or carrier offer. Apple’s U.S. announcement describes carrier credits and Apple Trade In, but eligibility varies. Neither the U.S. starting price nor the Samsung page’s displayed promotion should be treated as a global or permanent price.

What do the camera specifications tell you?
Apple lists a 48MP triple-camera system. Samsung lists a 200MP wide camera, 50MP telephoto camera, and 50MP ultra-wide camera. These figures describe listed hardware; megapixels alone do not show which phone takes better photos or video. The available specifications do not establish a controlled camera-quality comparison, so choose based on camera tests using comparable methods rather than resolution figures alone.

Battery life and speed: what is established?
Samsung lists a 5000mAh battery and claims up to 31 hours of video playback for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. That is Samsung’s stated figure, not a result directly comparable with an independent iPhone test. The available manufacturer information does not establish which phone lasts longer in real-world use or performs better under sustained workloads. Treat battery and speed as unresolved comparison points rather than assuming a winner from specifications.

Which platform fits your existing devices?
Both phones belong to distinct platforms: iPhone 18 Pro is Apple’s phone, and Galaxy S26 Ultra is part of Samsung’s Galaxy line. Consider the phone you already use, the devices you own, and the services you prefer. The available product information does not support a broader claim that one platform is better for every buyer.
