To unlock flight in AION 2, progress through the opening main-story quests in Poeta. Recent guides place the tutorial around the fifth quest, in Damina Forest; one names it “Ex. 11 Search Preparations…”. Once the flight prompt appears, follow it to deploy your wings. On PC, guides report V as the default flight toggle, but check the in-game prompt or keybindings if it does not work.
How to unlock wings and flying in AION 2
-
Continue the main story in Poeta. The reported unlock is a story milestone, not a separate trainer or a purchase. You do not need to stop at a particular character level; follow the quests in order.

Watch for the flight tutorial in Damina Forest. Secondary guides place it around the fifth quest. One identifies the quest as “Ex. 11 Search Preparations…”, but the official English material located does not confirm that exact title. Follow the current quest log and tutorial prompt if your client uses different wording. See AllThings. How’s flight guide and ExpCarry’s AION 2 flying guide.

Use the tutorial prompt to deploy your wings. On PC, recent guides report V as the default flight toggle. One also reports Shift to accelerate. Treat these as reported defaults, not guaranteed bindings: check the on-screen prompt or your current keybindings if either input differs.

NC’s official About the Game page confirms flight as a feature, but does not specify the unlock quest or keyboard inputs. Quest names and controls may differ by client version.
Why flight might not work
If the flight prompt has not appeared, continue the Poeta story rather than looking for a wing vendor. If the tutorial is complete but the toggle fails, check the live control prompt and keybindings. Recent third-party guidance reports restrictions in interiors, dungeons, and combat, but those limits are not confirmed by the official English material located; check whether the current location or activity permits flight.

Do you need to buy wings?
No purchase is shown as a requirement for the story flight unlock. Wings and flight access are not the same question: once flying is available, the source and effects of individual wing sets can vary. NC’s Korean official guidebook has a Wings category and says wing types can differ in ownership effects; its excerpt says shop-purchased wings have no ownership or equipped effects. It does not document the first-wing unlock or every way to obtain wings. Check the source shown for a specific set in-game before pursuing it.
