What “flight across all regions” means
In a June 4, 2025 announcement, NCSOFT described AION 2 as having “a seamless flying system that allows flight across all regions” (NCSOFT announcement). This is a statement about the game’s design, not an exhaustive promise that flight is enabled in every current zone, dungeon, or other instance.

The distinction matters because the available restriction evidence varies by region and content type. No current official, comprehensive list of no-fly areas for the global build was established as of October 4, 2026, the day before its announced global launch.

The official Taiwan flight guide, listed as updated November 18, 2025, says that both flight and gliding consume the flight gauge. If the gauge is insufficient, the character falls. It also says flight and gliding share a cooldown, while switching between the two modes can happen immediately (AION 2 Taiwan flight guide).

This means that being in a place where flight is allowed does not guarantee uninterrupted flight: the gauge is a resource limit. The guide warns that some details may differ from the live game, so its mechanics should be treated as Taiwan guidance rather than a guarantee of identical controls or behavior on every platform and region.

- Start or end flight: press the flight button or V.
- Accelerate in flight: hold Shift.
- Start or end gliding while airborne: press Space.
- Move faster while gliding: move forward; holding Shift temporarily increases glide speed.
- Switch modes: flight and gliding can be switched immediately, though they share a cooldown.
These are the controls given in the Taiwan guide, not confirmed universal key bindings for the global launch build.

Known restrictions—and what they do not prove
Chaotic Middle Reshanta
A secondary guide reports that flight was prohibited in the Chaotic Middle layer of Reshanta on Korean and Taiwanese servers by April 2026 (Inven guide). This is a specific regional exception to the broad “all regions” design language. It does not establish that the same restriction applies to the global build.

Open-world flight versus instances
The same secondary guide distinguishes open-world aerial combat from instanced combat and describes wings being used to traverse parts of some dungeons. That supports a difference between flying in the open world and using wings for traversal inside instances; it does not show that flight is disabled in every instance.

NCSOFT’s global site gives October 5, 2026 as the global launch date (AION 2 global site). As of October 4, 2026, the available sources did not establish a current official zone-by-zone list of places where global players can or cannot fly. The Taiwan guide and the Korea-and-Taiwan Reshanta report are useful context, but neither should be presented as a verified global rule.

For a specific area after launch, check the current global game notices or regional guidance. Until an official global list is available, the safest answer is that broad flight is part of the announced design, but universal access to flight in every location has not been confirmed.
