To unlock Gremist’s alchemy services in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, travel to Gedyneith on Ard Skellig, complete his three favors in the secondary quest “Practicum in Advanced Alchemy,” then return and speak with him the following day. The quest’s suggested level is 24, but that is not listed as a hard requirement.

Find Gremist and start “Practicum in Advanced Alchemy”

Go to Gedyneith, the druid sacred-oak site on Ard Skellig, and speak directly with Gremist. He asks Geralt to help with three tasks: find pimpernel, obtain spirit from an abandoned distillery, and recruit the druid Fritjof for a ritual. The three favors can be completed in any order.

Gremist is the most direct starting point. Quest references also list Otto Bamber near Oxenfurt as a source, and Yolar at Gedyneith as another lead; these are reported ways to learn about the quest, not prerequisites you must complete before talking to Gremist. If available, an alchemist dialogue option about a master alchemist can also point Geralt toward him. The Official Witcher Wiki lists level 24 as the quest’s suggested level, not a level gate. Complete Gremist’s three favors

Find the pimpernel

Search the marked woodland area with Witcher Senses to locate the pimpernel. This part of the quest can lead to a succubus encounter. Geralt may follow her to her lair and take the plant or side with the druid; neither choice is identified as a requirement for unlocking Gremist’s services. The Witcher Wiki quest walkthrough.

Make spirit at the abandoned distillery

Reach the abandoned distillery and clear the area so you can use its equipment. Inspect the distilling instructions, find the mash, operate the apparatus, and collect the spirit. These are the quest’s listed objectives for producing the ingredient Gremist needs. Quest objectives.

Recruit Fritjof

Find Fritjof in Blandare and persuade him to help Gremist. Go with him to the ritual site and defend him while he performs the ritual. Once the ritual is complete, this favor is done. Quest walkthrough.

Return to Gremist the next day

After all three favors are complete, go back to Gremist at Gedyneith. He asks Geralt to wait; use meditation or otherwise let a full in-game day pass, then speak with him again to finish “Practicum in Advanced Alchemy.” The delay is part of the quest’s completion sequence, so finishing the favors alone does not immediately complete the unlock.

What completing the quest unlocks

The quest reference lists the ability to buy from Gremist among its rewards. Another Witcher Wiki reference reports that he also becomes available as a Gwent opponent for “Gwent: Skellige Style.” The Official Witcher Wiki lists 240 XP and five each of sulfur, alcohest, han fiber, and saltpeter as quest rewards; those are game-reference values, not real-world figures. Quest rewards; Gwent availability.
