To unlock Comet in Fisch, complete Meteor Maniac Matthew’s first quest in Northern Expedition to earn Stardust Candy, then look for Comet beside fallen stars during Starfall and use the candy when prompted. The reported quest turn-in is one Cosmic Relic, one Moonstone, and either a Solarblaze Frozen Walnut or a Nova Frozen Walnut. The Companion Satchel’s reported Level 30 requirement is for equipping companions afterward, not for completing the quest.
Where to find Meteor Maniac Matthew
Travel to Northern Expedition and look for Meteor Maniac Matthew on a raised platform near the Frigid Cavern camp, as described by a secondary guide. The quest is identified there as “Anomaly Investigation (SPACE CANDY).” The route and requirements below are guide-reported rather than confirmed in primary developer documentation, so check the NPC’s current quest text in-game if a requirement differs.

Cosmic Relic
The guide says to break a Fallen Star with a pickaxe during Starfall to obtain a Cosmic Relic. Starfall is therefore relevant both to collecting this item and later searching for Comet.

Moonstone
The same guide lists several possible sources for Moonstone: meteors and Meteor Totems, an Ancient Isle asteroid, a Personal Aquarium, and the Daily Shop. These are reported routes, not a guarantee that every source will be available to every player at a given time; check the current in-game options before planning around one.
Choose one of the two Frozen Walnuts
Matthew reportedly accepts either a Solarblaze Frozen Walnut or a Nova Frozen Walnut. The available information does not establish that one is generally faster or easier to obtain, so use whichever variant you can acquire more readily in your current game state.

How to get Stardust Candy
Turn in the three reported quest requirements to Matthew. Stardust Candy is reported as the reward for completing his first quest; it is the item you use in the Comet encounter.
Where and when to find Comet
Search around fallen stars during Starfall. Comet is reported to appear beside a fallen star, but the available sources do not establish exact spawn odds or guarantee that every fallen star will have Comet. If you reach a fallen star and do not see Comet or an interaction prompt, keep checking other fallen stars while Starfall is active.

How to tame Comet
- Carry the Stardust Candy you received from Matthew’s quest.
- During Starfall, approach a fallen star and look nearby for Comet.
- When the in-game prompt appears, offer Comet the Stardust Candy to tame it.
The exact encounter conditions beyond the reported fallen-star location and Starfall timing are not established in the available sources; do not assume that a particular star guarantees an appearance.
When you can equip Comet
Sources report that the Companion Satchel unlocks at Level 30 and is required to equip companions. This is a separate gate from collecting the quest items and taming Comet: the reported quest route does not make Level 30 an ingredient for Matthew’s first quest or the candy interaction. If you have tamed Comet before reaching Level 30, you may need to unlock the Satchel before equipping it.

What is confirmed—and what may vary
