DOOM: The Dark Ages’ endless solo challenge is the Ripatorium, a customizable arena mode. Find the Ripatorium in the game interface, open its Encounter Manager, choose an arena and enemy setup, then select Endless instead of a time limit. Bethesda’s official notes confirm those options but do not document the current button-by-button route into the base mode.
Start Endless mode in the Ripatorium
- Open the Ripatorium from the game interface. The official notes do not specify a menu path, so this guide cannot confirm particular button presses or a required campaign milestone for the base mode.
- Open the Encounter Manager.
- Choose an arena, then select the demon types and quantities for your encounter.
- Choose Endless rather than setting a time limit. The manager also includes an enemy respawn counter.
- Adjust the available encounter settings and launch the setup.
Bethesda added the Ripatorium in Update 2 on August 7, 2025, describing it as an endless arena mode for setting up custom combat encounters. The base mode’s three arenas are:

These are Ripatorium arenas, not a story mission called “Endless.” The available evidence does not establish that you need to reach a particular campaign point to open the base mode.

Customize a longer challenge with rounds and waves
Update 3, released November 18, 2025, made the Ripatorium round-based. You can set up to five rounds, give each round its own settings, and configure up to 10 respawn waves per round.

- To reuse or share a setup: Update 3 introduced unique passcodes for sharing round configurations; Bethesda described passcode sharing as beta. Update 4 later added saving and loading personal presets.
Unlock Revelations content separately
The base Ripatorium and its three original arenas are separate from the Revelations expansion content. To access Revelations-specific Ripatorium content, you need access to the expansion and must complete its Master Arenas. That completion unlocks the expansion’s Ripatorium additions; it is not the stated requirement for the base mode.
Revelations adds three arenas—Hell’s Core, Osseus, and Classic—along with its demons and a fully upgraded Revelations loadout featuring the Spear and new Suit Perks. Update 4, dated July 7, 2026, also adds six curated encounter presets, continuous spawn mode, more health and ammo pickup choices, Berserk pickup controls, BFC ammo settings, and Revelations jukebox tracks.

Bethesda’s July 7, 2026 announcement described Revelations as an expansion requiring the base game. It listed a standalone add-on price of USD $19.99 and a Premium Edition upgrade price of USD $34.99 at announcement time. Those are dated announcement prices, not confirmation of current prices.
