If you want to prepare meals and serve customers, Cozy Cooking: Tiny Tastes is a more direct fit; if you want food woven into a story, try Venba. The right pick depends on whether you want atmosphere, hands-on cooking, bakery management, or lively co-op.
How Soup Weather compares with cooking games
Nintendo’s US listing describes Soup Weather as a story-led exploration game. Over the course of a week, you guide Bean around town, meet neighbors, play mini-games, and see her story unfold as her mental health begins to slip. Nintendo’s description promises, “Watch relationships blossom or crumble as you discover Bean’s story.” It does not present a restaurant, recipe, or meal-preparation loop.

That distinction matters if you searched for a relaxing cooking game. Soup Weather may suit you if you want a short, character-focused experience with a gentle exploration structure, but it is not the closest match for hands-on cooking. Nintendo lists its Switch release date as October 1, 2026, and says its behavior is consistent on Switch 2. The listing gives single-system play for one player, TV, tabletop, and handheld modes, touch-screen support, a 526 MB file size, and a suggestive-themes rating; store details can change.
Choose by the kind of cozy experience you want
| Game | Best fit | What the evidence says | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soup Weather | Story and atmosphere | Town exploration, neighbors, mini-games, and Bean’s story over a week. | Nintendo does not describe a cooking loop; one player. |
| Cozy Cooking: Tiny Tastes | Restaurant cooking | Take orders, prepare meals, and unlock ingredients and recipes. | Single-player; recipe counts come from the publisher’s Nintendo listing. |
| Venba | Story-driven cooking | Short narrative chapters are connected to dishes. | Nintendo Life says the puzzles are not especially challenging; that is an editorial assessment, not a formal difficulty rating. |
| Lemon Cake | Bakery management | Run a bakery and make confections. | Serving customers can become hectic. |
| Overcooked! 2 | Co-op cooking party play | Nintendo Life characterizes it as a co-op cooking party game. | More chaotic than a slow-paced narrative game. |
| SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure | Co-op cooking with action | Nintendo describes a cooking-combat adventure and lists one-to-two players on one system. | Combat and adventure make it an adjacent choice, not a quiet cooking substitute. |
| Stardew Valley | Life simulation with cooking on the side | Nintendo Life describes cooking as support for energy, health, and relationships, rather than the main focus. | Not a dedicated cooking simulator. |
Best Switch picks for each preference
For a story about people, not recipes: Soup Weather
Choose Soup Weather for exploration, character encounters, and a compact narrative rather than a kitchen routine. Its emotional subject matter, including Bean’s mental health, also means “cozy” should not be taken to mean purely cheerful or carefree. Nintendo’s listing is the source for its premise and platform details.
#1 Best Overall
- Brand new cooking Mama game created for Nintendo Switch.
- All new vegetarian mode
- Over 90 recipes between traditional and vegetarian mode
- Classic recipes and fun new recipes like Unicorn food
- Blend of traditional and motion controls
For orders, meals, and recipe progression: Cozy Cooking: Tiny Tastes
This is the clearest documented fit if you want to cook in a restaurant setting. REDDEER.GAMES’ Nintendo listing describes taking orders, preparing meals, and unlocking recipes and ingredients. The publisher listing reports 172 recipes, 24 unique ingredients, and four cooking options: blender, pan, pot, and oven; it gives an August 7, 2025 release date. Those are publisher-provided counts, not an independent assessment of recipe variety or depth. The game is single-player.
For food as part of a narrative: Venba
Venba is a better match than Soup Weather if you want a story organized around food. Nintendo Life describes short story chapters connected to dishes and characterizes the puzzles as not especially challenging. That can appeal if you want cooking-themed interaction without demanding kitchen-management systems, though the difficulty description is editorial rather than a measured rating.
Rank #2
- Get ready for a double helping of cooperative cooking as Overcooked! And Overcooked! 2 come together in chaotic Harmony.
- Overcooked! Play solo or engage in classic, chaotic couch co-op for up to four players in both co-operative and competitive challenge modes.
- hold onto your aprons… it's time to save the world (again!)
- Chop, Fry and serve your way through a series of unconventional kitchens. Play with over 20 chefs in 75 levels across both games!
- includes the base game for both Overcooked! And Overcooked! 2
For a bakery routine, with occasional rushes: Lemon Cake
Lemon Cake focuses on managing a bakery and making confections. It has more of a business-and-service rhythm than a narrative exploration game, and Nintendo Life warns that serving customers can become hectic. Pick it for bakery management, not for a guarantee of uninterrupted relaxation.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →For friends who enjoy kitchen chaos: Overcooked! 2
Overcooked! 2 is the co-op cooking-party option in this group. The appeal is energetic coordination rather than an unhurried, solo cooking routine, so it is a better choice when your idea of fun includes communicating under pressure. Nintendo Life includes an Amazon US retailer link in its guide; that does not establish a current price, edition, availability, or offer terms.

For co-op cooking mixed with combat: SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure
Nintendo describes SEDAP! as a cooking-combat adventure and lists one-to-two players on a single system. Its official description calls it, “Co-op cooking chaos meets thrilling adventure in the world of SEDAP!” The combat and adventure framing makes it suitable for players seeking action alongside cooking, rather than a calm kitchen simulator.
For a broader life sim where cooking is secondary: Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley includes cooking, but Nintendo Life notes that it supports other systems such as energy, health, and relationships instead of serving as the central activity. Choose it for the broader life-simulation experience; do not expect a dedicated cooking game.
Rank #4

A quick decision guide
- Choose Soup Weather for a short, story-first exploration experience, not meal preparation.
- Choose Cozy Cooking: Tiny Tastes for orders, cooking stations, and recipe progression.
- Choose Venba for a narrative whose chapters connect to food.
- Choose Lemon Cake for bakery management, accepting that service can get hectic.
- Choose Overcooked! 2 or SEDAP! when multiplayer energy and pressure sound fun rather than relaxing.
- Choose Stardew Valley only if cooking can be one supporting feature in a larger life sim.
What “cozy” means for these games
“Cozy” is a preference, not a dependable measure of difficulty or pressure. For a calmer fit, look at what occupies most of the game: narrative exploration and food-themed story are different from serving queues, bakery management, or co-op action. A game can have warm presentation and still ask you to work quickly. The descriptions available for these titles support comparing their focus and pressure, but do not establish a universal ranking or hands-on judgment of how relaxing each feels.
