How to Uninstall Comodo Antivirus on Windows

Uninstall the exact Comodo product through Windows, remove Internet Security Essentials separately if present, and reserve Comodo’s cleanup tool for a failed normal uninstall.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To remove Comodo Antivirus, first uninstall the exact Comodo product listed in Windows Settings or Control Panel, then restart if prompted. Check the installed-app list for Internet Security Essentials as well: Comodo says it is a separate program and is not removed with the main application. If the normal uninstall fails, use Comodo’s official Uninstaller Tool as a fallback.

1. Find the exact Comodo product name

Open Settings > Apps and look for the installed Comodo entry. Comodo’s Internet Security 12.2 documentation labels the path Settings > Apps > Apps & features. Alternatively, open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. The labels vary by Windows version.

The entry may be called Comodo Internet Security, Comodo Cloud Antivirus, Comodo Firewall, or another Comodo product—not necessarily “Comodo Antivirus.” Comodo’s Internet Security 12.2 instructions and Cloud Antivirus 1.20 guide cover different products and interfaces, so match the entry you actually have.

2. Uninstall it through Windows

  1. In Settings, select the Comodo app and choose Uninstall. In Control Panel, select the Comodo entry and choose Uninstall or Uninstall/Change.
  2. Confirm the action if Windows asks, then follow the Comodo uninstall wizard to completion. For Cloud Antivirus 1.20, Comodo’s guide describes confirming removal, proceeding through the wizard, and selecting Finish.
  3. Save your work and restart Windows if the wizard requests it.

Comodo’s Internet Security 12.2 documentation also describes changing installed components through a configuration wizard; that is not the same as removing the whole suite. To uninstall the suite, choose its uninstall action in Windows rather than changing its components. Comodo notes that component changes take effect after a restart.

3. Remove Internet Security Essentials separately if present

After uninstalling the main product, check the installed-app list for Internet Security Essentials. Comodo describes it as a standalone program: uninstalling the application it accompanied does not remove or deactivate it. If it appears, select it and use the same Windows uninstall interface. See Comodo’s Internet Security Essentials documentation.

4. If the normal uninstall does not work

Comodo recommends the Windows Control Panel route for an ordinary uninstall and reserves its Uninstaller Tool for cases where the traditional method has difficulty removing the product. Its official Uninstaller Tool instructions describe support for Comodo Internet Security, Firewall, Antivirus, Client Security, and Advanced Endpoint Protection.

What “completely” means here

These steps complete the documented Windows uninstall flow and address the separately installed Internet Security Essentials component. Comodo’s documentation does not guarantee that every file or registry entry will be removed on every Windows installation. Do not manually delete registry entries or drivers based on generic cleanup advice; the cited instructions do not establish that as necessary or safe for every product version.
