On a US keyboard layout, type @ with Shift+2. On a UK layout, use Shift+apostrophe—the apostrophe key near Enter. The active software layout, not the fact that the keyboard is made for gaming, determines which shortcut works.
Which shortcut types @?
| Active layout | Shortcut | What to expect |

| US | Shift+2 | The @ symbol is commonly printed above the 2 on the keycap. |
| UK | Shift+apostrophe | Use the apostrophe key near Enter. Shift+2 commonly types a double quotation mark instead. |
These are common US and UK layout shortcuts; other national layouts can place @ elsewhere. A keycap may show one symbol while the computer’s selected layout assigns that key a different character.

- Check the taskbar input indicator. Select the language or input indicator and choose the layout you intend to use.
- Switch among installed layouts. Press Windows logo key+Space to cycle through them. If only one layout is installed, this will not add another.
- Add a missing layout if needed. In Windows 11, open Settings > Time & language > Language & region and use the language and keyboard options. Windows 10 has corresponding language and keyboard settings; labels may vary by version. See Microsoft’s instructions for managing language and keyboard settings.
If the shortcut still produces the wrong character
- Confirm the active layout, then try its matching shortcut: Shift+2 for US or Shift+apostrophe for UK.
- Open Windows On-Screen Keyboard to see the character positions for the selected configuration. Microsoft explains how to open and use it in its On-Screen Keyboard guide.
- If you suspect an Fn-layer shortcut, check the manual for your exact keyboard model. There is no established universal Fn combination for @ across gaming keyboards.
