To turn VoLTE on or off, open your phone’s cellular or mobile-network settings and look for the VoLTE control. The exact path depends on the phone, carrier, and region; some phones do not show a separate switch. VoLTE means voice calls use the LTE/4G network.

VoLTE stands for Voice over LTE: it carries voice calls over a carrier’s LTE/4G network. Turn VoLTE on or off on Android
Android menu names vary by manufacturer and carrier. If the path below differs on your phone, search Settings for “VoLTE” or “LTE calls.” The switch may be absent when the carrier manages the feature automatically.

- Tap Network and Internet, then SIMs.
- Switch VoLTE on or off. If you use more than one SIM, select the relevant line first.
Carrier network settings may set VoLTE on or off by default. Google suggests trying it off if voice calls or text messages behave unusually. The control’s visibility and behavior can depend on the operator’s configuration. Google Pixel Phone Help

Samsung Galaxy
- Open Settings.
- Tap Connections, then Mobile networks.
- Choose VoLTE calls and enable or disable it for the desired SIM line.
On dual-SIM phones, the setting can be managed separately for each line. Samsung’s Latin American support page, last updated September 16, 2026, says availability varies by country, operator, and phone model. Samsung support
Turn VoLTE on or off on iPhone
- Open Settings.
- Tap Cellular, then Cellular Data Options.
- If your carrier offers the controls, look for Voice & Data (VoLTE) or Data Only options and choose the setting you need.
Apple does not promise a universal dedicated VoLTE switch: available settings depend on the iPhone model, carrier, and region. Apple’s current US and Canada carrier feature list says VoLTE is available only on iPhone 6 or later; that device threshold does not establish that every carrier or plan supports it. Why the VoLTE option may be missing
A missing switch does not by itself mean the phone is broken. Support and menu visibility can depend on the handset model, country, carrier configuration, SIM or line eligibility, and LTE coverage. Apple likewise notes that iPhone options vary by model, carrier, and region.
- Confirm device and carrier support: Ask the carrier whether your exact phone model and plan support VoLTE in your region.
- Check the SIM and line: Have the carrier verify that the SIM is compatible and VoLTE is enabled or provisioned for the line.
- Check coverage and network mode: Make sure LTE/4G coverage is available and the phone is set to use LTE/4G.
- Update the phone: Install current software, then search Settings for “VoLTE” or “LTE calls” in case the menu path differs.

VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling are different
VoLTE carries calls over the carrier’s LTE network; Wi-Fi Calling carries them over Wi-Fi where the carrier supports it. On iPhone, Apple says an active Wi-Fi Calling call can switch to cellular VoLTE if Wi-Fi drops, provided VoLTE is available and enabled. Apple: Wi-Fi Calling
To enable Wi-Fi Calling on iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular, choose a line if you use Dual SIM, tap Wi-Fi Calling, then turn on Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone. Availability varies by carrier and country or region. Google also notes that not all carriers support Wi-Fi Calling; check your carrier’s details for availability and possible charges.
