In Windows 11, open Settings > Time & language > Typing to configure physical-keyboard text suggestions, multilingual predictions, autocorrect, and spelling highlights. Text suggestions offer candidate words as you type; autocorrect is a separate setting.
Where are typing settings in Windows 11?
Open Settings with Windows key + I, then select Time & language > Typing. You can also open Settings from the Start menu and follow the same path. Microsoft documents these controls on its Windows text suggestions page.

Try typing in a message, document, or browser comment. Suggestions appear above the cursor when supported in that text-entry field.
Microsoft explains that suggestions are based on your spelling and can become more accurate as you type more letters. The feature is not a guarantee that suggestions will appear in every application.

How do I enable suggestions in multiple languages?
In the same Typing settings page, turn on Multilingual text suggestions if you want Windows to suggest words across multiple languages. If the language or keyboard layout you need is not available, open Settings > Time & language > Language & region and add or configure it. Microsoft’s instructions for language and keyboard/input layouts and language packs cover those settings.

How do I turn on autocorrect and spelling highlights?
In Settings > Time & language > Typing, look for Autocorrect misspelled words to enable correction. The Windows Settings Catalog lists autocorrect separately from text suggestions; turning on predictions does not, by itself, turn on autocorrect. The catalog also identifies Highlight misspelled words as a separate option for visible spelling cues. See Microsoft’s Windows Settings Catalog.

How do I choose or dismiss a suggestion?
When suggestions appear above the cursor, select one with a mouse or touch input where supported. You can also move through the choices with the arrow keys and press Enter to insert a suggestion. Press Esc to dismiss the suggestions without choosing one. Microsoft provides these steps in its text suggestions instructions.

If you want suggestions in more than one language, enable Multilingual text suggestions and confirm the needed language and keyboard layout under Time & language > Language & region.

If a setting is absent or has a different label, Windows version or build variation may be a factor. Microsoft’s cited instructions do not establish which Windows 11 release first used these labels.
