In YouTube Studio, go to Earn → Supers → Get started, complete the setup, accept the Commerce Product Module (CPM) if prompted, and switch on Super Chat. That enables the feature for eligible content, but YouTube’s documentation confirms Super Chat for eligible live streams and Premieres—not every kind of continuous prerecorded 24/7 rebroadcast. Check the actual stream in Studio before promising viewers they can use it.
Check channel eligibility first
Super Chat is part of YouTube’s Supers fan-funding features. Access depends on your channel’s eligibility, location and compliance with YouTube’s terms and policies; you may also need to accept the Commerce Product Module during setup. Meeting the general threshold does not guarantee that every Supers feature or individual video is eligible.

YouTube’s monetization eligibility page, accessed in 2026, shows a lower YPP tier for fan-funding features such as Supers: 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the preceding 90 days, and either 3,000 qualifying public watch hours over 365 days or 3 million qualifying Shorts views over 90 days. Check YouTube’s current eligibility page for your channel and location, since requirements and availability can change.

Turn on Super Chat in YouTube Studio on desktop
- Sign in to YouTube Studio with the channel account.
- In the left navigation, select Earn, then open Supers.
- Select Get started and follow the on-screen setup.
- If prompted, review and accept the Commerce Product Module (CPM).
- Turn on the Super Chat switch.
If the Supers tab does not appear, the channel may not have access yet. Check the channel’s Earn area, country availability and applicable eligibility requirements.
Turn it on in the YouTube Studio mobile app
- Open the YouTube Studio app and select Earn.
- Tap the Supers card and complete any setup prompts. If the app presents Get started in the Supers section, tap it.
- Accept the CPM if prompted, then enable Super Chat.
The card may be absent if the channel is not eligible. Use Studio on desktop to review the channel’s Earn section if you cannot find it in the app.

What changes for prerecorded video and 24/7 streams?
YouTube describes Super Chat and Super Stickers as ways for fans to connect with creators during live streams and Premieres. A Premiere is the clearly documented option for showing prerecorded video with live chat and Supers: when channel Supers are enabled, they are automatically available for an eligible Premiere.

A continuous 24/7 rebroadcast of prerecorded video is not expressly guaranteed by the cited YouTube guidance. Do not assume that because the video is prerecorded—or because the channel-level switch is on—Super Chat will be available on every such stream. Check the actual stream’s live chat and eligibility in Studio, and tell viewers only what they can see there.

Check the individual stream’s restrictions
Even when the channel has Supers enabled, Super Chat is unavailable on certain videos. YouTube’s eligibility guidance excludes:
- Age-restricted videos.
- Unlisted or private videos.
- Videos marked Made for Kids.
- YouTube Giving fundraiser videos.
- Videos where live chat or comments are turned off.
Live chat must be on for viewers to send Super Chats. Review both the channel-level Supers setting and the status of the specific live stream; one does not override the other.

Verify it before announcing Super Chat
- In Studio, confirm Super Chat is enabled under Earn → Supers.
- Open the live stream’s settings and confirm that live chat is enabled.
- Check that the stream is not in an excluded category or visibility state, and inspect the stream’s available Supers controls.
- If the stream is a continuous prerecorded rebroadcast and Studio does not show Super Chat as available, do not claim that viewers can send one. YouTube’s published guidance does not settle every 24/7 rebroadcast configuration.

YouTube’s current Help page, accessed in 2026, says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google.
