In LibreWolf v157, the reported switch is in Settings > Appearance > Enable the Nova redesign. Turn it off; the report says the change takes effect without restarting. The exact path comes from a recent secondary report, not from LibreWolf’s official documentation, so labels may differ in other releases. Windows Latest’s report identifies v157, which also appears in LibreWolf’s Windows package listing.
Turn off Nova from LibreWolf Settings

Turn off Enable the Nova redesign.
The report says the interface changes immediately, without a restart. Because this particular control is documented by a secondary report rather than the official LibreWolf pages, treat the path as version-specific.

If Settings has a different layout
Select Swap settings design, then look under the LibreWolf category for the Nova switch. This alternate location is also reported for v157.
If the Nova switch is missing
Some Firefox-version reports describe an advanced preference named browser.nova.enabled. It may be worth checking if your LibreWolf build lacks the visible control, but its presence and effect are not established for every LibreWolf version.

A Mozilla Support answer describes this preference for some versions, and a Mozilla Connect discussion repeats the method while including reports that it did not change the interface for some users. If the preference is absent or setting it to false has no effect, do not assume the method is supported by your build.

Mozilla cautions that changing advanced preferences can cause unexpected behavior or breakage, and does not officially support preference changes made through about:config. If changing the preference causes problems, return it to its previous value; what that restores can depend on the version.

Why not use a configuration file or CSS first?
LibreWolf documents librewolf.overrides.cfg for deliberate preference management. Its defaultPref() function sets a default without overriding a user’s preference, while pref() enforces a setting. However, the Nova preference’s availability and behavior are not established for every build, so there is no reliable universal Nova recipe for that file.
Custom userChrome.css styling is a separate, advanced way to alter interface appearance—not the reported Nova toggle. Mozilla also says it does not officially support custom CSS customization. Start with the visible Settings control where available.

LibreWolf’s official documentation explains general settings and configuration rather than independently confirming the Nova switch: LibreWolf settings documentation. Its Windows installation page listed v157.0-1 packages when checked, but package availability does not confirm that the toggle appears in every operating system build: LibreWolf for Windows installation.
