Usually, you can’t turn off a Bluetooth headphone’s blue light independently unless that specific model offers a setting or the light shuts off automatically. The meaning of the blink—and the available controls—vary by model. Check your exact model’s manual before trying button combinations.
What the blue light may mean
A blue light is often a Bluetooth status indicator, not a sign that the headphones are faulty. Its meaning depends on the blink pattern and model: it may show that the headphones are ready to pair, connecting, or connected. These patterns are not universal Bluetooth standards.

Examples from specific models
- Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700: Bose describes a slowly pulsing blue light as “Ready to connect,” a blinking blue light as “Connecting,” and solid blue as “Connected.” The guide also describes the indicator being off while connected to conserve power.
- Bose SoundSport wireless and QuietComfort 35: Their guides use a slow blue blink for discoverable or pairing mode. Bose says their Bluetooth and battery indicators turn off after 10 seconds of inactivity.
- Philips TAA6606: Its January 11, 2022 manual distinguishes a fast blue flash for pairing from a slower pattern while connected or in standby. It says the headphones turn off within five minutes if they cannot make a connection.
These examples apply only to the named models. A blink that looks similar on another headphone may indicate something different.

Check whether your model has an LED-off option
- Identify the make and exact model. Check the product label, packaging, companion app, or Bluetooth device name.
- Open the official manual or support page for that model. Search for “indicator,” “LED,” “status light,” “Bluetooth light,” or “light control.” Check both the button instructions and any app settings.
- Check whether the headphones are waiting to connect. Pair them with the device you intend to use, or exit pairing mode using the model’s documented instructions. This may change the light pattern, but it may not turn the light off; some headphones show a light while connected.
- Use only a documented light control. If the manual provides a setting or button command, follow that model’s instructions rather than borrowing a sequence from another product.

Using a sticker as a reversible workaround
If the official manual offers no light control, a small, removable LED-blocking sticker is an optional way to conceal the light. Products such as Lightmute dimming stickers and UBlockout LED Light Blocker Stickers are examples of the general product category, not headphone-specific recommendations. Check placement first, use a removable product, and peel it off if it affects operation.

A sticker only blocks the light from view. It does not turn off Bluetooth, change the headphone’s connection state, or disable the indicator electronically. Avoid opening the earcup, cutting wires, or applying permanent paint as routine troubleshooting.
