To stop Samsung Cloud syncing selected data, open Settings > your Samsung account name > Samsung Cloud and switch off the categories you no longer want synced. This does not necessarily disable or uninstall the Samsung Cloud app, remove existing cloud data, or stop device backups; those are separate actions. Samsung’s available settings vary by device, software version, carrier, and region.
Turn off sync for selected categories

Open Settings on your Galaxy device.

Tap your Samsung account name at the top of Settings, then tap Samsung Cloud.

Switch off the toggle beside each category you want to stop syncing, such as Contacts, Calendar, Samsung Notes, or Bluetooth. The categories shown depend on your device and region.

Samsung’s guidance for the US and Australia documents this account-settings route. You can check the instructions for your region at Samsung US Support and Samsung Australia Support.

Know what the sync switch changes
Samsung Cloud sync keeps supported data matched across devices signed in to the same Samsung account. Samsung India explains that edits and deletions to synced notes can carry over to other signed-in devices. Turning off a category stops that category’s ongoing sync; it is not the same as deleting cloud data or disabling every Samsung Cloud feature. See Samsung India’s sync guidance.
Sync, backup, and restore are different controls
Samsung Cloud provides separate controls for syncing categories and for backing up or restoring device data. Samsung US lists backup categories that can include call logs, messages, contacts, calendar, clock, settings, home screen, and apps. Inspect the options on your phone rather than assuming every device has the same list; Samsung notes that availability can vary by device and software version. The Back up data and Restore data controls are separate from category sync toggles.

If your goal is to stop device backups, look for Back up data in Samsung Cloud and review its controls. If you want to remove a stored backup, use the backup-management or deletion controls available on your device; switching off sync is not documented as deleting an existing backup. Handle Gallery photos separately
Samsung US says photos and videos are not backed up to Samsung Cloud and points to Microsoft OneDrive for syncing Galaxy Gallery. Samsung Australia also identifies OneDrive as the Gallery photo-sync option. This applies to Gallery synchronization; OneDrive is not established as a replacement for all Samsung Cloud sync, backup, or restore functions. Check Samsung’s US guidance or Australian guidance for the regional details.

Hide the Samsung Cloud shortcut without changing sync
If you only want to remove the Samsung Cloud icon from the Apps screen, look for the Show Samsung Cloud on Apps screen setting and turn it off. This hides the shortcut; it does not turn off category sync or delete backups. Samsung documents this visibility setting in its US support guidance.
Can you disable or uninstall the Samsung Cloud app?
Samsung’s cited instructions establish how to manage sync categories and hide the Apps-screen shortcut, but not a universal procedure for disabling or uninstalling the app itself. The available app controls can depend on your Galaxy model, software version, carrier, and region. Check the app’s details in Settings on your specific phone; do not assume that hiding its shortcut disables its services.

What happens to existing data and inactive cloud data?
Samsung’s support materials separate sync settings from backup management and do not say that switching off a sync category immediately removes data already stored in Samsung Cloud. Review backup and cloud-data management separately if you want to delete stored material.

Samsung US says unused Samsung Cloud data categories may be deleted after 12 months and that Samsung provides advance notice. This is an account inactivity policy, not an immediate effect of turning off a sync toggle; the cited statement is Samsung US guidance and should not be assumed to apply identically in every region. Details are in Samsung US Support.

If Samsung Cloud is missing from Settings

Confirm that you are signed in to a Samsung account, then check the account section of Settings again.

Use your phone’s displayed options as the final check: Samsung says Cloud features and settings can vary by model, software version, carrier, and country.

Samsung US says Samsung Cloud is unavailable on Verizon phones and tablets and in some countries. Other regional Samsung support pages also warn that availability varies.
