Restart your Samsung Galaxy phone to exit Safe Mode. If the Safe mode is on notification appears, you can also open it and tap Turn off; that option restarts the phone too. Samsung notes that screens and settings vary by model, carrier and software version. Samsung US Support
Choose an exit method

Restart from the power menu
- Open the power menu using the method available on your Galaxy. Depending on the model and configuration, this may mean holding the Side or Power button, using a button combination, or tapping the power icon in Quick Settings.
- Tap Restart and confirm if prompted.
- After the phone starts, check whether Safe Mode has ended and your usual apps are available. The exact screen labels can vary across software versions and regions.
Samsung’s guidance is direct: “To exit Safe mode, simply restart your phone or tablet and it will reboot normally.” Samsung US Support

Turn off Safe Mode from its notification
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to open notifications.
- Tap Safe mode is on.
- Tap Turn off. The phone will restart and should return to normal operation.
If that notification is not there, use the power-menu restart instead. Samsung says device screens and settings may differ by carrier, software version and model. Samsung US Support

Safe Mode temporarily disables downloaded apps so you can check whether one is contributing to problems such as crashes, freezing, lag, or camera, audio or connectivity trouble. The apps are not deleted simply because the phone entered Safe Mode. Samsung US Support

The problem disappears in Safe Mode
A downloaded app may be responsible. Samsung recommends removing recently installed apps one at a time, then checking normal operation after each removal. This helps identify whether a particular app is associated with the problem. Samsung US Support
The problem continues in Safe Mode
If the same issue remains when downloaded apps are disabled, those apps may not be the cause. Samsung says persistent problems in Safe Mode can indicate a hardware issue and recommends visiting a Samsung walk-in service center or scheduling a repair. Samsung US Support

Do not jump straight to a factory reset as an exit step: Samsung warns that a reset erases personal data and advises saving information you need first. Samsung US Support

What may look different after exiting
Button locations, labels and notification behavior vary with the Galaxy model, Android and One UI version, carrier and region. Samsung’s France support page, updated 16 January 2026, also notes that airplane mode may be enabled after leaving Safe Mode on some versions, and that customized widgets or app placement may need to be restored. These are possible regional and version-specific outcomes, not something every phone will experience. Samsung France Support
