You can stop Audible from autoplaying recommended titles, but Audible’s help does not document a single switch to turn off all AI features or hide its Maven assistant. Maven is optional to use; its documented entry point is Search. These controls are separate, so switching off autoplay does not disable Maven or other AI-related features.
Stop recommended titles from autoplaying
To stop Audible from automatically playing a related-title preview after your current audiobook, turn off the Recommended titles option. Audible says these previews play only when no other title is queued.

- Open Profile in the Audible app.
- Tap Settings (the gear icon), then Player.
- Open Continuous listening.
- Switch Recommended titles off.
This changes the autoplay behavior only; it is not a Maven or all-AI disable setting. See Audible’s instructions for managing continuous listening.

Maven is Audible’s AI-powered audiobook discovery assistant. Audible Help Center’s article Discover new audiobooks with Maven, dated September 3, 2026, says it is “a built-in feature that’s always accessible, but using it is entirely optional.” In the app, open Search and select Ask Maven if you want to use it. The article does not document a setting to hide Maven or switch it off globally, so the available choice described there is simply not to use it.

Maven can suggest audiobooks through conversation, refine recommendations in follow-up exchanges, and provide title overviews or comparisons. Audible says chats can be resumed within 24 hours. Those capabilities do not make the recommended-title autoplay toggle a Maven control. Read Audible’s Maven help for its documented entry points and use.
What about AI-narrated audiobooks?
Audible calls computer-generated narration “Virtual Voice.” Its Help Center article, Listen to titles with virtual voice (September 15, 2025), says, “Virtual voice narration is computer generated, rather than live narration.” Audible identifies these titles in their details with Narrator: Virtual Voice; you can also search for “virtual voice” to find them.

The cited guide explains how to identify and find Virtual Voice titles, but does not document an app-wide setting to suppress them. Turning off recommended-title autoplay does not change narration in titles already in Audible’s catalog. See Audible’s Virtual Voice instructions.
Other Audible AI features and player settings
Audible’s AI-features index also lists “Ask a question while you listen” and “Connect Audible to Claude.” The index is a topic listing, not a settings guide; it does not establish controls or availability details for those features. It therefore does not support assuming that Maven’s optional-use description or the Recommended titles toggle applies to them. Check Audible’s AI-features help index for its listed topics.

Audible’s player preferences are available in its iOS and Android apps. You can reach them from Profile > Settings > Player or, while in the player, its three-dot More menu. The documented options include player customization, progress display, skip intervals, mini-player time display, timer shake behavior, screen auto-lock, Automatic Car Mode, listening-position sync, and Continuous listening. These are player preferences, not a collection of AI switches. The menu labels and feature availability may vary by app version or geography; the cited guidance does not establish a universal rollout. See Audible’s app player settings guide.
