On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions → Apple Music → Cancel Subscription. Follow the prompts to confirm. The right cancellation route depends on which company bills you: Apple, Google Play, a carrier, or another provider.
Cancel Apple Music on an iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Apple Music.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the onscreen prompts to confirm.
If the cancellation button is missing or an expiry message appears, Apple says the subscription has already been cancelled. Apple’s subscription cancellation guidance explains what to check.

Use the route that matches your billing provider
If Apple Music is not listed in your Apple account, first identify who is charging you. Cancelling through a different company’s account will not stop the subscription.

- Go to music.apple.com and sign in if asked.
- Open the My Account icon and choose Settings.
- Under Subscriptions, select Manage.
- Choose Cancel Subscription and follow the onscreen instructions.

Android or Google Play billing
If Google Play bills your subscription, cancel it in the Apple Music app on your Android device or through Google Play. Apple Account settings do not replace Google Play’s cancellation controls. If Apple bills your subscription while you use Android, Apple’s current guidance points to account.apple.com.
Windows
In the Apple Music or Apple TV app, open the account menu, choose View My Account, and find Subscriptions. Select Manage, open the relevant subscription, and cancel it. In older versions of iTunes, use Account → View My Account, then choose Manage beside Subscriptions and edit the subscription to cancel.

Mac
Use subscription settings in the App Store or Apple Account interface. The menu path can vary by macOS version. If Apple Music does not appear, check the Apple Account shown on your receipt against the account signed in on the Mac.

If Apple Music is not listed under Subscriptions
- Check the receipt. Search your email for an Apple receipt or invoice and note which Apple Account was charged. The subscription may be attached to another account you use.
- Check whose account was billed. If the receipt identifies a family member’s account, that person must cancel their individual subscription; one family member cannot cancel another member’s individual subscription.
- Identify another billing company. If you cannot find an Apple receipt, check your bank or card statement for the company charging you. Contact that company—such as a carrier or other provider—to cancel.
- Check Google Play. If Google Play is the billing provider, cancel through Google Play rather than Apple’s subscription settings.
- Look for an expiry notice. If Apple shows an expiry message instead of a Cancel button, the subscription is already cancelled.

When access ends—and what happens to your library
Cancellation turns off renewal; it does not end access immediately. Apple Music catalog access continues until the current subscription expires. After that, catalog songs and playlists added from the catalog—or made with catalog music—are no longer available, and Sync Library turns off. Music and playlists already on your device before the subscription began remain available. Do not assume that every downloaded catalog track or playlist will remain playable after expiry. Apple Music Classical is included with Apple Music, and Apple says listening in Apple Music Classical is no longer available after cancellation. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you do not want it to renew. Check the expiry date shown in your subscription settings and allow time to complete the cancellation prompts.

Regional cancellation rules
Apple notes that cancellation can differ in some countries or regions, including Germany, Israel, South Africa, and Türkiye in its general subscription guidance. Its Apple Music cancellation page also flags regional differences for Israel, South Africa, and Türkiye. If you are in one of those locations, follow the current local instructions from Apple Support: Subscriptions and Billing rather than assuming the standard steps apply.
