On Mac, controls are split between System Settings and individual apps. Screen Time also offers a way to restrict access to certain AI features.
Turn off Apple Intelligence across your iPhone
- Open Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri.
- Turn off Apple Intelligence.
Apple says this switch turns off Apple Intelligence across iOS. If you only want to stop one behavior, leave the broad switch on and use that feature’s individual control instead. Apple’s iPhone guide lists the available controls.

Turn off selected features on iPhone
Use the setting that matches the feature you want to stop. Menu labels can vary with software version and feature availability.

Turn off Siri AI beta
To disable Siri, open Settings > Siri and choose Turn Off Siri. Where Siri Classic is supported, Apple says you can turn Siri back on and select Siri Classic. Availability depends on the device, software, language, and region. Apple’s iPhone guide explains the option.
What you can turn off on iPad
Apple’s iPad guide lists individual controls for Messages summaries, Mail summary previews, notification summaries, and priority notifications. Use the matching setting on your iPad rather than assuming every iPhone option is available there. The features and menus depend on the iPad model and software version. Turn off features on Mac
Mac controls are distributed between System Settings and the apps that use the features. Open the relevant app or settings panel and change only the behavior you want to stop.

Restrict access with Screen Time
Screen Time can block categories of Apple Intelligence features, rather than just turning off a particular suggestion. Apple lists controls for Writing Tools, image creation features—including Image Playground, Genmoji, and Image Wand where supported—and Intelligence Extensions from third-party providers such as ChatGPT.
- On iPhone: Open Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, enable restrictions if needed, then open Intelligence & Siri and choose which categories to allow.
- On Mac: Open System Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy > Intelligence & Siri, then set the allowed categories.
Apple’s Screen Time guidance for Apple Intelligence describes these restrictions. Use this approach when you want to limit access to a category of tools, rather than only removing one feature’s prompts or summaries.

Why a setting may be missing
Apple Intelligence is not available on every device, language, or in every region. Some features also depend on the operating-system version, and Siri AI beta has its own eligibility and regional limits. If a path or toggle above does not appear, check Apple’s compatibility and settings guidance for your device and use the controls available on your installed version.
