Voice dictation is only the first step in client work. A useful workflow also gives the spoken task a clear action, source, and output—and leaves the resulting draft for a person to review. With Wispr Flow and the open-source Rail Kit Skills, you can dictate into the app you are using, work from call notes or meeting information, and prepare a recap or follow-up without automatically sending it.
What voice-first client work actually means
Wispr Flow puts dictated text into the text field where you are working. It is an input method, not by itself a meeting-recording or client-management workflow. The second part is deciding what information to use and what you want produced from it.

Yonatan Gross describes the useful pattern as a clear verb, a clear source, and a clear output. For example: “Draft a client follow-up in Hebrew from my notes from today’s call. Include the decisions and next steps, but leave it as a draft for my review.” That instruction identifies the action (draft), source (call notes), and output (a reviewable follow-up). It is an example of an intended workflow, not a claim that every input will produce a complete or correct result.

Four Rail Kit Skills for call-related work
Rail Kit is an open-source collection of four agent Skills for client-call workflows. Its repository describes the kit as MIT-licensed and says Hebrew output is the default. The Skills are intended to produce drafts or proposed changes rather than silently communicate with clients or alter external systems.

Use this Skill when you have meeting information or notes and want a follow-up artifact, such as a recap, scope, or draft message. The repository’s stated guardrails include draft-only output, no outbound messages, no external-system writes, and facts traceable to their sources. Treat the result as material to inspect, not as a message that has been sent.
prep-call: prepare for the next conversation
This Skill is for creating a preparation sheet from available client context and relevant material. Make the source explicit in the task and check that the sheet reflects the current state of the relationship before relying on it for a meeting.

client-context: assemble a client status view
Use this Skill to organize available information into a client context or status board. As with any generated summary, check important facts against the underlying notes or documents before using them as commitments or shared status.
sync-call-state: propose a state update for approval
This Skill is for a proposed change to call or client state. The repository says the designated state update waits for explicit approval before writing a change. That approval boundary is different from the other Skills’ draft-oriented outputs; review the proposed update and its source before approving it.
The repository provides installation instructions and lists support across multiple agent environments. It reports end-to-end verification on Claude Code; that does not establish the same level of verification for every listed environment. Follow the repository’s own instructions for the agent you use.

Set up dictation around the work you do
Check device support and requirements
Wispr Flow’s official system-requirements page, updated September 29, 2026, lists macOS 12 Monterey or later on Intel or Apple Silicon, Windows 10 or 11 x64, iOS 18.3 or later on iPhone, and Android 13 or newer on smartphones. It recommends 8 GB RAM for Mac and Windows dictation, 4 GB for iPhone, and 6 GB for Android. A working microphone is required. The same page lists iPad, Linux, Chromebook, virtual machines, and remote desktop environments as unsupported. Check the current requirements because platform support can change.

Dictate in the destination field
Open the app or text field where the text belongs, start Flow using the control for your device, speak, then stop. Wispr’s “What is Flow?” guide says desktop dictation inserts the completed text after you stop rather than displaying a live, word-by-word transcript. Controls vary by platform, and transcription requires an internet connection.
Make repeated work easier to dictate
- Configure a shortcut that is comfortable for your device and workflow.
- Add product names and internal jargon to the personal dictionary to make frequent terms easier to dictate.
- Create snippets for recurring text, such as a standard sign-off or meeting phrase.
- Try different styles for different apps if the current app offers them.
- Explore Command Mode and the Notetaker/MCP workflow only after checking their current availability and controls in the app.
These are workflow suggestions, not a guarantee that every control is available on every platform or plan. Check the current app before building a process around a feature.

Check the plan before relying on a quota
Wispr’s official pricing page lists Free at $0, Pro at $15 per user per month or an equivalent $12 per user per month with annual billing, Growth at $18 per user per month, and Enterprise at a custom price. The page lists Free allowances of 2,000 words per week on desktop and 1,000 on mobile. Pricing, allowances, and features can change; consult the current pricing page for the plan and billing terms that apply to you.

Wispr’s privacy documentation distinguishes controls for model improvement, dictation cloud storage, context awareness, and local data storage. They address different things and should not be treated as interchangeable. The October 7, 2026 documentation says the model-improvement and dictation-cloud-storage switches default to on unless restricted or otherwise configured.

A local-history setting does not mean ordinary transcription is wholly local, and turning off one control should not be assumed to disable every form of processing or retention. Read the current data storage and privacy controls explanation and inspect the settings that apply to your account.

For client work, check your organization’s rules and the actual app settings before dictating sensitive information. If policy does not permit a particular client detail to be processed by the service, do not dictate it into the service.
Verify consequential details against the source
A transcript, recap, or generated follow-up can help locate what happened in a conversation, but prices, quotes, and commitments deserve a direct check before they enter a document. Yonatan Gross’s rule is: “A quote, a price or a commitment reaches a document only after a look at the full transcript.” Apply that check to the original transcript or other authoritative source, not just a condensed summary.
