Most wireless and sleep faults on a Windows 11 mini PC can be narrowed down without opening the case. Start with Windows’ built-in troubleshooters and reversible settings, then test whether the fault is in the PC, the router or accessory, or the internet service. Only after those checks should you install a model-specific driver or contact the mini PC manufacturer.
Use this order before changing anything
A mini PC may use an internal wireless module, a replaceable module, or an external antenna, and its supported sleep state varies by model. Because the exact hardware is unknown, avoid assuming that a particular driver, antenna, firmware package, or replacement radio will fit. Record the symptom and work through the least disruptive checks first.

- Note whether the problem affects Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, sleep, or more than one function at the same time.
- Check whether another device can use the same Wi‑Fi network or Bluetooth accessory.
- Write down whether the failure is constant, intermittent, or started after an update or hardware change.
- Keep the mini PC’s exact model and manufacturer available. You will need them if Windows cannot supply the correct driver or firmware.

Fix Wi‑Fi connection issues in Windows 11
1. Run the Network and Internet troubleshooter
Open the Windows 11 Get Help app and start the automated Network and Internet troubleshooter. Let it complete before making manual network changes. It can identify a disabled adapter, a basic configuration fault, or a connection state that needs to be reset.

2. Check Wi‑Fi and Airplane mode in Quick Settings
Select the network, volume, and battery area on the taskbar to open Quick Settings. Confirm that Wi‑Fi is enabled and that Airplane mode is disabled. Airplane mode can disable both Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth, so it is an easy cause of two apparently unrelated failures.
Turn Airplane mode on once, wait a few seconds, and turn it off again if the controls look correct but the radios remain unavailable. This is reversible and does not erase saved networks or paired accessories.
3. Reconnect to the network cleanly
If the network name appears but the connection is stale, remove the saved profile and connect again:

- Open Settings > Network & internet > Wi‑Fi > Manage known networks.
- Select the affected network and choose Forget.
- Return to the Wi‑Fi list, select the network, and enter its password again.
Forgetting a network removes the stored security key and profile; it does not change the router’s password or disconnect other devices.
4. Decide whether the router or the internet service is at fault
A Wi‑Fi icon can show a connection even when a particular website or app is blocked, malfunctioning, or affected by a firewall. Do not treat the icon alone as proof that the whole internet works.
First check whether the mini PC can reach the local router. Open Windows Terminal or Command Prompt, run ipconfig, and note the Default Gateway address for the Wi‑Fi adapter. Then run ping [default-gateway-address], replacing the bracketed text with that address. A successful reply means the PC reached the router; it does not prove that the router reached the internet.
If the router responds but web pages do not load, investigate the modem, internet service, DNS configuration, or a service outage. If several devices lose internet access at the same time, the mini PC is unlikely to be the sole cause.

5. Restart the modem and router when the fault is broader than this PC
If other devices are also offline, or the connection remains down after reconnecting the mini PC, restart the modem and router according to their instructions. This briefly disconnects every user on that network. Allow both devices to finish starting before testing the mini PC again.
If the mini PC works over a wired connection but not over Wi‑Fi, the Ethernet result points toward the wireless path: the Wi‑Fi adapter, its driver, radio interference, or the router’s wireless function. It does not repair a failed Wi‑Fi radio.
6. Use Ethernet as an isolation test
Connect the mini PC directly to the modem by Ethernet when the device has an Ethernet port and you have a suitable cable. This is a diagnostic comparison, not a permanent requirement. A working wired connection with a failing Wi‑Fi connection narrows the problem to wireless equipment or configuration. A wired connection that also fails points more strongly to the router, modem, internet service, or a general Windows networking problem.
Disconnect the cable after the test if you need to verify that the Wi‑Fi profile reconnects normally. Some networks use different security, DNS, or access-control rules for wired and wireless clients, so record exactly what the test proves.

7. Check the Wi‑Fi adapter’s power setting
Windows can turn an adapter off to save power. To test whether that contributes to dropouts:
- Right-click Start and open Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters.
- Double-click the Wi‑Fi adapter and open its Power Management tab.
- If the option is present, clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power, select OK, and test the connection.
The tab and checkbox depend on the adapter and driver, so their absence is not itself proof of a hardware failure.
8. Update Windows and the exact mini PC driver
Open Settings > Windows Update and install available updates, including optional driver updates when appropriate. If Windows Update does not resolve the adapter, use the mini PC manufacturer’s support page for the exact model, revision, and Windows 11 edition. Do not install a driver chosen only because its name looks similar; wireless chipsets and revisions can require different packages.

After installing a driver, restart the PC and test the same network in the same location. If the issue began immediately after a driver update, Device Manager may offer Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver; use that only when the button is available and the timing is clear.
Bluetooth keeps disconnecting or will not pair
Confirm that the mini PC actually has Bluetooth
Some PCs do not include Bluetooth. Check the product specifications or the model’s manual before treating a missing toggle as a Windows setting. A mini PC that has Wi‑Fi does not necessarily have Bluetooth, and an external Bluetooth adapter may be required if the model was sold without the feature.
Check the radio, accessory, and range
Open Quick Settings and confirm Bluetooth is on. Check Airplane mode as well, because it can disable Bluetooth along with Wi‑Fi. The accessory must be powered on, charged, in pairing mode, and close enough for its radio to communicate reliably. Follow the accessory maker’s pairing sequence; simply turning it on may not make it discoverable.
Make discovery and pairing deliberate
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices and select Add device.
- Choose Bluetooth.
- If the accessory is not listed, open the Bluetooth device-discovery setting and change it to Advanced, where that choice is available.
- Put the accessory back into pairing mode and keep it near the mini PC while scanning.
- If an old entry appears but will not connect, select its menu, choose Remove device, and pair it again.
Removing a pairing clears the relationship stored in Windows; it does not reset the accessory’s firmware or erase unrelated devices.
Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter
Use the automated Bluetooth troubleshooter in Get Help. It can correct common configuration and service problems without requiring a registry edit or a full network reset.

In Device Manager, expand Bluetooth, right-click the adapter, and choose Update driver. Also check Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates for driver packages. If Windows cannot find a suitable update, obtain the package from the mini PC manufacturer’s support page for the exact model.
Outdated or incompatible drivers are a common reason for Bluetooth connection failures. Restart after a driver installation, then test pairing and sustained playback or input rather than stopping after the device appears once.

Test power saving when Bluetooth drops repeatedly
For recurring disconnections, inspect the adapter’s power policy:
- Open Device Manager > Bluetooth.
- Open the adapter’s Properties and select Power Management.
- If shown, clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
- Select OK, restart Windows, and retest the accessory.
Some drivers do not expose this tab. In that case, update the driver and use the accessory’s own battery and firmware guidance instead of trying to force a hidden setting.
Rule out USB 3.0 interference
Unshielded USB devices connected to USB 3.0 ports can sometimes interfere with sluggish or unresponsive Bluetooth devices. As a temporary diagnostic, move a USB receiver farther from the mini PC, move the accessory if practical, or disconnect nearby USB 3.0 devices. If Bluetooth improves, reconnect devices one at a time to identify the source and use a short extension cable or a different port to increase physical separation.
When Bluetooth disappeared in Windows
A missing or grayed-out Bluetooth toggle can mean that Windows cannot detect the radio, not merely that the toggle is hidden. Perform a full shutdown rather than selecting Restart, wait for the mini PC to power off completely, and start it again. Then check Device Manager for an error icon, install manufacturer driver or firmware updates, and review Windows optional updates.
If the adapter remains absent after those checks, use the manufacturer’s model-specific support process. The exact cause may be a failed radio, an internal connection, firmware, or a board-level issue that generic Windows steps cannot identify.

Set the Windows 11 sleep timers
Open Settings > System > Power & battery > Screen, sleep, & hibernate timeouts. Set the screen-off and sleep delays separately for plugged-in and, where applicable, battery operation. A mini PC normally stays plugged in, but Windows still displays options according to the device’s capabilities and configuration.

On-battery defaults can differ, and the table does not identify the sleep mode of an unspecified mini PC. Do not change a timeout to diagnose a radio fault unless you can reproduce the failure before and after the change.
Understand what sleep should do
Sleep is a low-power state intended to resume quickly. Microsoft describes it this way: “Sleep uses very little power, your PC starts up faster, and you’re instantly back to where you left off.” The exact wake method differs by hardware. Most PCs can resume with the power button; some also support a keyboard or mouse.
Check the mini PC’s manual or manufacturer support page to learn which wake sources its firmware supports. A keyboard that wakes one model may do nothing on another, especially when USB power is disabled during sleep.

For a desktop-style mini PC, open Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do. Review the action for the physical power button, especially when the button appears to shut the PC down instead of sleeping or waking it. Available choices and firmware behavior vary by model.
Do not select a sleep action for a button that is difficult to reach unless you have confirmed how to recover from an unresponsive wake. A forced power-off can lose unsaved work.
Recover from a failed wake
- Press the configured wake button once and wait; repeated presses can create confusing input after the system resumes.
- If a USB keyboard, mouse, display, or storage device fails after wake, disconnect and reconnect it.
- Restart Windows if the device remains unavailable, then check its driver in Device Manager.
- Install current device drivers, including chipset, graphics, network, and Bluetooth packages supplied for the exact mini PC model.
Sleep does not guarantee that Wi‑Fi remains connected. Network availability during sleep depends on the hardware and its configuration, so test the behavior on your specific mini PC rather than relying on the taskbar state before sleep.
Separate a Windows setting from a hardware or service fault
Use a controlled comparison
Change one variable at a time. For Wi‑Fi, compare the mini PC with another device on the same network and, if possible, compare Wi‑Fi with Ethernet. For Bluetooth, test a second accessory or the same accessory with another computer. For sleep, record whether the failure occurs after a manual sleep, an automatic timeout, or a power-button action.
A fault that follows the accessory or network points away from the mini PC. A fault that follows the mini PC across networks and accessories points toward its Windows installation, driver, firmware, or hardware.
Escalate with useful evidence
Contact the mini PC manufacturer when Windows cannot detect the adapter, a driver or firmware update fails, or sleep and wake behavior contradicts the model’s documentation. Provide:
- Exact model name, revision, and Windows 11 edition.
- The symptom, frequency, and the date it began.
- Whether Wi‑Fi works over Ethernet, whether another network changes the result, and whether another Bluetooth accessory behaves differently.
- Device Manager error text or codes, if present.
- Recent driver, firmware, Windows, USB, or display changes.
- Which Get Help troubleshooters and power-management checks you completed.
This information prevents support from repeating generic toggles and helps determine whether the next step is a model-specific driver, firmware recovery, antenna inspection, or hardware service.

- Expecting one sleep schedule on every mini PC: Modern Standby and S3 devices use different defaults, and the manufacturer may expose additional firmware controls.
- Testing several changes at once: if Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and power settings all change together, you cannot tell which action helped or introduced a new problem.
A short recovery checklist
- Run the relevant Get Help troubleshooter.
- Verify Wi‑Fi or Bluetooth is enabled and Airplane mode is off.
- Reconnect the network or remove and pair the Bluetooth accessory again.
- Compare the mini PC with another device, network, or accessory.
- Use Ethernet to separate Wi‑Fi trouble from router or internet-service trouble when possible.
- Inspect adapter power management and install Windows updates.
- Install only the exact mini PC manufacturer’s driver or firmware package when Windows cannot resolve the issue.
- Check the Power & battery timeout path and the model manual for sleep and wake behavior.
- Escalate with the model number, symptoms, error codes, and tests already completed.
