The available project descriptions do not establish a specific cause or a verified fix for an individual failed update, so use the checks below to locate where the run stopped rather than assuming the market feed, your connection, or a cache is at fault.
Check whether the report is actually out of date
BolsaBuddy’s creator describes it as a locally run Python project that fetches daily data, calculates indicators, and produces a phone-readable HTML report with a watchlist and plain-language brief. An independent review also cautions that it is not an established real-time exchange feed. Look at the date shown in the report and compare it with the most recent completed trading session, accounting for weekends and market holidays. A dated sample is not a current quote: the creator’s example report used data dated 2026-10-01 and listed an IPC close of 63,828.6, down 0.60% for that day. Those are figures from that example, not current market data or an independent recalculation.
Trace the run through the five scripts
The creator’s stated command runs five Python scripts in sequence:

To narrow down where that happens, run the commands one at a time from the project directory and note the first one that exits unsuccessfully, along with its full terminal output. This is a diagnostic approach, not a confirmed BolsaBuddy fix; the available descriptions do not document the project’s exact error handling.

Separate price fetching from brief generation
The creator says the brief uses a small local model and falls back to a templated brief if that model is unavailable. That description concerns how the brief is written; it does not show whether price fetching succeeded. If the brief looks different or is missing, do not treat that alone as proof that the price data failed to update. Check the fetch step’s output and the date in the report separately.
The creator also describes a cached-data smoke test that can run without network access or a model, and says CI runs it on each push. That is not evidence that a local run can refresh live Yahoo Finance data, nor that the smoke test covers live access. A successful cached-data test cannot, by itself, confirm that the newest market data was fetched.

For a useful diagnosis, include the exact command you ran, the date shown in the generated report, and the current terminal output—especially the first error or unsuccessful exit. Also say whether the report was generated and whether the fetch step appeared to complete. Do not present a guessed cause as established: the available descriptions do not identify a verified cause or fix for a particular stale BolsaBuddy price.
If you need fresher or structured market data
BolsaBuddy’s described input is Yahoo Finance’s free daily ^MXX feed. The review describes the BMV market-information page as labeling its displayed information 20 minutes delayed; that statement applies to that page and does not establish Yahoo Finance’s exact delay. The project post also points to the Kun Data API README, which describes BMV and BIVA coverage, token-authenticated access, WebSocket updates, historical OHLCV, and snapshot queries. It is an adjacent developer service, not a repair for BolsaBuddy, and the available information does not establish its current price, uptime, licensing suitability, or fit for a particular use.
